Murray cod fishing with soft plastics

Soft plastics are a great way to fish for Murray cod. They are underused and underrated and most certainly have their place.
Some days spinnerbaits work best, other days it may be hard body lures and when they both fail you may just find that a soft plastic will work the best.
Yesterday afternoon I had a good little session on the Murray cod using soft plastics, and even snared my personal biggest ever Murray cod caught on a soft plastic.
I was using a Zerek flat shad soft plastic, I hope you like this video.

Great effort mate, i have a video request. As the prices of lures can vary from 5 bucks to 30+ can you please do a cost benefit review on 100 bucks voucher and choose five lures that you would suggest as a great starter/mid fishing level and list where you would use those lures and what results you have had. I'm thinking one really great 20 bucks lure then 15, then 10 on and on. Would be very interesting mate. I have a Trelly's voucher for a 100 bucks lol, so please, share your intel brother. i filmed the sunset mate and to me it looked like a movie. Woodside camp ground, 30 bucks a night for camping in their woods. From my swag to the beach 2 mins. I took a few piccys and put them in the vid but for some reason they came out like a Iphone shot, strange as i used a Fuji S1 Superpix ??? any idea why? any feedback on it would be appreciated mate. BTW, whats the go with your photography channel?

It took me about two hours to watch your video im at work checking tickets on the train listening to passengers problems giving out fines listening to some passengers confessions giving them absolution from thier sins and between it all a few minutes break from reality going down under watching Robbie catching murry cod Thanks for keeping me sane.

my only question for you Robbie, where is the closest bogans 'r' us to wangaratta? i was thinking shepparton would have been perfect but driving around this place i cant seem to find one.... haha top videos mate, really enjoy your cod videos on youtube, alot better than watching and missing all the saltwater fishing i used to do.

I was fascinated by these things a few years ago. Tried and tried with them here in Echuca with result of one single yellowbelly. Was told by one fishing club member that they don't work at all. Told him it was because the Murray river is much to cloudy down here and it was stuffed. Did not get good reaction from the bloke.

Awesome vid Robbie I use the same soft plastics but in the bigger sizes they work great especially for Murray cod 👍🏻👌🏻😀

Fletcher White catch and release for cod that what most of us do anyway

G'day Fletcher, many people practice catch and release these days mate. I kept one about 4 weeks ago and it was the first cod that I have kept for a few years. I like to keep one every once in a while to remind me why humans went fishing in the first place, and ensure that I NEVER turn into a fish hugging greenie wanker.....but other than that I, like many others prefer to release the cod in the hope that I can find it another day.

robbiefishing cheers rob I haven't caught anything over 50 anyway this season. I haven't had much luck with the soft plastics however I might have to give it another go. I was also wondering that if I catch a cod through or above the eye will it survive I have caught about 3 this season through or above the eye and I was concerned they wouldn't make it cheers and good luck
