G'day Mick and Sally, Absolutely beautiful pictures of the flood waters. Way better than any other drone footage that I have seen of them on You-tube. The comparisons put it all in perspective. I can remember the 1956 floods as a 12 YO school boy on regular holidays at Mannum, and thanks for taking us over the Lyrup ferry to see the other side of the river there in particular the SS Ellen park camp ground. I had a day trip recently to the Riverland and was blown away by the amount of water. I hope to spend the Australia day long weekend up there to support some Riverland businesses where I can. Thank you for showing these towns as well. It really puts into perspective the size of the flooded area. I am wondering just how many times they could fill Sydney harbour with this lot of water. We had horrific floods here in the western Sydney flood plains but in area, nothing like the Murray, the biggest difference was that the Government had allowed the area to be filled with suburbs putting more pressure on the plains & so we had thousands of homeless people losing everything, however the floods had come & gone within a week or two at most whereas here I have been watching the waters rise & cover vast tracks of land & infrastructure since the beginning of December & still they lay under water so the damage will be greater & more long lasting. As a nation we never learn!! Greed always gives way to wisdom.

Another great documentation. You made mention of the swans and ducks enjoying the floods. Considering much of the bird life has small offspring at this time of year they should stand a good chance of survival not having to cope with the less intelligent operators of high powered water craft. Although unfortunate for a lot of people and industry mother nature is having chance to reset.

Hi Mick and Sally love the show, Jez and I are 60 this year and have decided to start getting away with our camper a bit more and filming our adventures and putting them onto our page out and about with Jonno and Jez so our family can see what we are up to, I have a GoPro 10 and a DJI mini 2, I am also about to get a Sony ZV 1F, what I am having trouble with is finding a good editing package, do you have some suggestions that might be helpful and a good reasonably easy to use package. I use an editing prog that is called PowerDirector 365. Search the internet and you can view what it has to offer. It is a monthly subscription which is the only downside to it. They have a KZbin channel that you can watch to learn how to use it. Good luck with it all, let me know the channel address when you get it up and running.

Yes it was but unfortunately the 1956 flood level will be the second highest flood one day.

As a Victorian how one flood can effect so many people for so long , it like the gift that keeps giving , unfortunately it looks like the water will recede just as slowly , i feel sorry for the people who have property submerged and are waiting to get back to survey the damage .

Unfortunately, 1800"s settlement began at the river for water supplies. Have had several floods since, yet we still like to live close to the water and knowing the past and ignoring the possible future. Sad, but true. Now consequently is a huge burden on Councils, State and Australian governments.And all persons Australia wide Insurance policy $ rises. Water Catchment, would have been so wonderful for this arid country if waters was contained to be released later. Pardon if I seem out of line with my text, but the above will never be rectified, and Mother Nature never tells her plans. Good Luck to all the effected people and livestock.

I use a DJI Air S2, there are cheaper drone available but the DJI have many advantages.

Renmark Club has a good set of solar panels, yes I remember going to Mannum and seeing the 1956 flood and the sand bags down the street.
