Update on the smell. I think they modified the formulae, the scent is now similar to the one from the classic beeswax but lighter. Also, it has a softer consistency. I think I'll switch to the black beeswax once I finish the classic bottle. My only complain with beeswax is how hard is to clean your hair if you put a decent amount of it. If you use an amount bigger than a cashew seed, you will feel your hair heavy during the first hour after applying it. I always use a conditioner (Alberto Vo5 or Brylcreem) as a base to avoid the pull.

I believe that the smell can be covered up as I use a bit of hairspray on my hair after I use the beeswax and it really doesn't smell like crayons to me after I am through. I'm also going to make my very own beeswax hair balm ,tinting it with something other than crayons ( ancient Chinese secret LOL ). I have some amazing products I already use that I make for myself ,this makes one more product I will be able to add to my product line. Products not being sold,for personal use only and for my friends and family. Keep posting the helpful video's young man,they are very helpful.

I am white and I always get my hair dyed black, the black with a blue tint. Can white girls who get their hair dyed use beeswax? I wanna go get some dreads done with my real hair and they are going to use beeswax. I don't know what kind they use at the salon. I just don't want my hair falling out. Will I be ok? Is it safe??

Nice honest review. I just wanna know how do you clean it off your hair. I used like 4 different shampoo kinds & brands and goddamn pomade still in my hair like 4 days. That's why I'm not longer using it.

I'm curious... How did you clean your hair after applying that amount of beeswax? If I use more than a dime, my hair feels greasy for 3 days straight. Only way I've found to avoid that feeling is to alternate between this and another product... Also, I use Brylcreem before beeswax (that diminishes the tug) Also, interesting fact, the new formula smells very much like the original :)

I use a Denman brush to brush my hair back ($15), the red comb is a regular large styling comb from Sally's beauty supply ($1), and the black comb is just a standard Afro Pick from Sally's ($1)

And also, like I said in my review, the regular Murray's Beeswax does not smells as much like crayons, but this one does perform a little bit better, in my opinion. So if you care more about scent, I would get the regular :)

Hey cameron, I am looking for a shine pomade with decent hold but cheap overall(my hair is thick and about 2.5 inch pompadour style but im going to grow it until 5inch)I tried murray's classic one but it felt extremely hard to work with.What would u suggest me to try next ? :) (im thinking of Royal Crown not the hairdressing or Black and white) It would be awesome if u lighten me up!

There is Murray's Super Light Pomade & Hairdressing, Bu Metsu Wrestling. That stuff gives you a light hold and a high shine. You might like tat one better. And it smells like cinnamon.

a topper is just something you put on top of your base product, in his case, he is using brylcreem as a scent topper, but there are also shine toppers, like Layrite Super Shine.
