This man played a huge part in me getting into formula 1 and btcc when I was a very very young kid. A true icon, all those who were lucky to listen to his commentary will say the same. RIP to a legend!

There will never be another who comes close. Nobody could or would have been worthy to hold a candle to him. His depth of knowledge on all categories of motorsport and ability to engross the listener will be forever unparalleled. We were privileged to have shared his enthusiasm. It is rare for the term 'legend' to be used correctly in this day and age, yet it still falls short when describing Murray Walker.

Edit...if any vintage race archivers post any races with Murray Walker post the link here, I can sometimes find them but most of the ones I find are the US broadcasts which just don't feel like Formula 1 to me unless it's the Speed/NBCSN broadcast team.

I've still got the last full commentating broadcast Murray did for the 2001 British GP (full race) *and* his last ever full commentating broadcast for the Indianapolis 2001 (full race too) on VHS tape which I keep meaning to capture. I just need to get a capture card/dongle. And a VHS player 🤣🤣🤣
