Hi Niall. You picked a lovely day for your hike, lots of lovely autumnal colours. A nice spot for your gastro sandwich , hopefully you get out for a camp in one of those spots. That abandoned house looked a bit spooky. All the best for the new year, take care 👍

Thanks Andrew 😊 There's definitely something spooky about abandoned buildings. I was tempted to explore into some of the downstairs rooms but couldn't get the nerve up being there on my own 🤣

Looks a great spot to spend some time in a tent Niall! From up high, the other land masses/islands looked like they’d be great to visit too 😊 A fine steak sandwich 😎

Thanks Miriam, I really didn't know there were so many islands in Donegal Bay. Some of those are accessible at low tide too as there was a tractor out working the fish farm that's just about visible in the final drone shots. More plans for the future 😊

Lovely vid, man. I see you've the Topo's on. Thinking about getting a pair myself. Great that you discovered a bunch of potential camping sites not far from what has been a regular walking spot. Looks a top hammock site! Great to see you out and about again!

Thanks Kevin 😊 Not sure about the hammock, the trees might be a wee bit far apart but it definitely has great camping potential 👌 It will be interesting to see how the Topos compare to your experience with Altras 👍

@@nialloutdoors The Altras feel kind of flimsy and the sole rubber is really soft and not hard-wearing. I have seen reviews from thru-hikers on the AT trail that they used to get at least 800 miles out of a pair, now it's well below 500. The ToPo's have a Vibram sole, iirc, which is a big plus in my book.
