he is singing about the persian gulf. water territory of Iran which has been abused in physical and verbal terms many times by calling Arab gulf. besides you would only get how he feels when he is singing about his country and its legacy, if you know how he was a hit singer back in 45 50 years ago and got kicked out of the country with no respect because of the religious revolution and apparently in governmental version of Islam, Music was haram that time, or highly restricted. singers of his age, specially the most knows triangle of Ebi, Googoosh, and Dariush are the icon of nostalgic, retro and regretted generation of our pop culture who have become a huge regret for many generations of us for not having the opportunity to see them once in our lives.
