Namjoo is well known for his free-style of singing. Don't be alarmed if he switches from traditional to to rock to pop to "weird" singing style. He even uses gibberish in parts of few of his songs. He even makes sounds like hiccups, coughs, etc in the middle of his songs. He has studies traditional Iranian music in college and is familiar with jazz, rock, and other western genres of music and likes to experiment with these different styles.

Iranian traditional music is beyond every other types of music. Instruments, Vocals, Lyrics, all are from another world, something that you would never see, even close to that, in other types.

but I think there are people of every country that think the same way lol. I myself have about 20,000 songs on my itunes, maybe over 30 languages within that, lots of traditional songs from those countries, even Persian. I think no type of music is supreme, no way. Every music has it's own perks. Personally, I think some of the classical pieces of Europe, Mozart and such, is some of the most sophisticated music I have ever seen. Some of those songs, written long ago, still sound so good today. And you can look at the sheet music and BLAM

Typical Iranian hype. Like my familj always does with anything from Iran, best this, best that... Yes we have an amazing language that is amazing for poetry and song but it does us morse harm when you guys hype it through the roof...

the main point of his work is how he deconstruct traditional persian poetry and music. he is fearless in taking a very classic and mystical poem from 800 years ago and playing with it in the most unusual way.
@gol.m6084 жыл бұрын
Mohsen Namjoo gets really deep into the poems and with his own unique kind of artistry, changing his voices into different types, for instance one an old man and another a woman, he tries to convey the meaning of the poem to his audience.

1976 is Mohsen Namjoo's year of birth. The Nederland concert was in 2016 if i'm not mistaken. The Title song from his debut album, Toranj (Tangerine), is one of my favorites, would be nice to see your reaction to that, Toranj uses more traditional instruments.

Turning an old traditional poem into such a modern style . Namjoo definitely has a bold style of mixing and blending the generations together . I really do admire him . He really is THE artist to me . I remember I was feeling like flying over the mountains of art in college when I started to listen to his first album and NOW he still is moving forward . Thanks Musa . U really have a great sense of music 👍🏻

That voice change is mainly on the phrase "sanama jafa raha kon " translated " my love please stop "jafa" with me " and jafa it self cant be translated into English but it means kinda means being unkind to your lover harrasing him or her and not paying attention to his or her love. Now what is behind those instant and various voice changes? Well thats the whole intention of the play and its that the phrase sanama jafa raha kon is a phrase that everyone in this world is saying everyone has a lover who doesnt love them back and namjoo is just saying that this is a general thing by changing his voice into different people's voice

Shirin & Farhad are symbols of love in Persian literature like Romeo & Juliette, they have a really nice love story with a sad ending.... and the charector of the song refers his lover as to Shirin. At a certain point the voice changes to an old man's voice, that's one of the beauties of this song, it illustrates that the boy singing this song has grown old and still he hasn't got to his lover and he is still alone.

The lyrics in Persian, I'm sorry that I don't have the English version. Thanks Musa for ur authentic reactions, keep it up. I see you enjoy ur music on headphones, if you don't mind me suggesting and you wana enjoy listening to music a lot more get a nice pair of headphones. The industry reference at $500 ish and below is usually Sennheiser HD 650 or HD600, HD580 or the newest HD 660. (you could get them used for $200 ish) with these you'd hear the music and vocals very close to what was intended by the composer/singer. Also you gonna hear a better soundstage and more precisely engineered imaging. These r great since the Frequency response is CLOSE to flat and as a result there is minimal coloration. It is preferred to get a headphone amp as well but that's another story all by itself. Hope you enjoy your music and spread love.
