You gave me ideas for my garden. Not sure if I'm going to do much this year, but I'm learning to garden smarter not harder. Your plants look so amazing. Thanks Shane, love you guys.

My irrigation guy just used stainless steel zip ties that he got off Amazon to attach the drip line to the wire. That is what he suggested to use instead of plastic zip ties.

From looking at you your irrigation setup coming up from the ground to a elbow, from here get you a box of post wire staples nail your hose into your post with a little room to pull your hose to tension then hammer the staple in until hose is snug and still able to transfer water down your rows. I hade the same issues now my hoses are tight.
@EarlybirdFarmSC Жыл бұрын
Quick tip on zip ties from someone that works in the communication field (telephone/internet company). You need the black ones as they are UV rated if you use them outside. The clear or white zip ties are not UV rated which is why they keep breaking on you. Although the wire trick will most likely work best of all. That is a good idea.

really appreciate that.

The staples I use are fas•n•tote fencing staples galvanized 1 1/2 gotten at lowes for 7$ they do you some good and zip ties are a lot cheaper than those pigtails from ison that is if you don’t mind replacing a few a year I’m on my 4 year of growing and I buy a few packs of zip ties each year let me know if you try the staple method and how you like it, always looking forward to your new vineyard videos keep up the good work

Spiral cable ties can be purchased in cheaper, 50 foot sections at computer and auto stores. I used them when building electronic equipment and wiring harnesses. 👌-KJ

Hey Kinfolk! I hope you are doing well today. I am planning my irrigation system and adding the various parts to my cart on Ison's website. My question is, do I need a pressure regulator (Part Number ACU-32)? I am only watering 8 plants that span about 160 feet in total length. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Looking good, got to be getting excited for that wine lol 😂.mine is starting to back since hurricane tore it down last year. I ordered 2 varieties (Carlos and seedless fry) last nov. I have written to Ison’s with some concerns or questions really about some pruning. Only have one side going down the wire about 3-4’ no leaf growth and the other about 6” with some leaf growth.The fork however is about 2’ below the wire ,just hate to cut it but thought maybe the forking should be closer to the wire.Same with the other one, only the one that is going down the wire has leaves on it and does not fork at all. ( this was probably very confusing lol) Haven’t heard back from them yet.
@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia Жыл бұрын
The one side with no leaves probably had frost damage. I would try to train the next closest vine down the other way. Remember it don't have to be pretty to grow grapes lol. That fry is gonna be some of the best wine ever. Our favorite

Quick question brother: I planted (Ison, Supreme, Ison) on my trellis in November and supreme is greening up real good but neither of the Isons are doing anything. You think I might’ve messed up somewhere? Didn’t know if the weather is messing them up and prolonging them coming out of dormancy or if the Ison’s just take longer. Keep the videos coming!

I have got a question for you I planted 10 muscadine Vines last fall about half of them now don't have any new growth on them except at the very bottom I guess the cold weather got them have you ever seen this happen before and if you have is there any chance they will make it up to the trellis wire this year thanks for your help really enjoy your videos

Yes I have some like that right now. Water heavy and fertilize like required and they might but don't be to worried, 2n and 3rd year they will grow heavy. I've cut the whole pla t off at the ground with lawn mower and had to start over lol

Hey Shane, are you using city water or well water and is one recommended over the other? Also, how did you bare the ground beneath your trelis lines and what benefit do you think it serves? I sure appreciate your videos. We're putting up 4 80 ft. trellis lines at our ranch in Southeast Oklahoma.

Real important to control your weeds and grasses especially first couple of years while your plants are young. You don't want any competition with your muscadines weeds rob your plants of nutrients and water

I planted 6 muscadines from Ison's in November. They all started sprouting. I cleaned the trunks and then we had a cold spell. 2 look amazing but the other 4 stopped sprouting and appear to be dormant. Will they come back next year or do I need to replace them?
@KinfolkFarmofGeorgia Жыл бұрын
I would give them a little more time. But cold spells can be tough on new plant. I think I lost a few new replacement plants due to the cold.
