You're going a little out of order here, but that's ok - Ren has written multiple songs referencing his friend Joe: (in order) Freckled Angels, How to Be Me, Suic*de, and For Joe. This song has parts of Suic*de and Freckled Angels, and it also brings in some of another song, Dominoes. Joe was one of Ren's best friends. One night, Ren got a phone call from another friend saying that Joe had called to say goodbye, that he was going to jump. Ren lived close to the bridge, so he ran from his home to the bridge, trying to call Joe while he was running. He said that the first few times he tried, he got a busy signal, but about two minutes before Ren arrived at the bridge, he started to get a "number out of service" message. By the time he got there, Joe was gone. There was a volunteer search and rescue team that looked for Joe's body for several days, but they never found him. Ren was able to donate around $20,000 to that search and rescue organization last year, in Joe's honor.

Good morning my friend. This one has parts of two other songs in it. The first part is from Suic*de. The last part is from Freckled Angels. Perfect "book ends" for an AMAZING tribute to his dear friend, he lost at 19. Suic*de was a gut punch of a song. With this one, he turned it into a song of HOPE. I totally get not wanting to pause. Sorry for your loss. The first part of this song comes from the song Suicide. He also includes the chorus from one of his early songs, Freckled Angels. Both excellent songs in their own right. He has a tradition of often releasing a studio version of a song and then a live version, which is often quite different. Do take a look at the description of the video and sometimes the pinned comment. He took the opportunity to raise funds for the RNLI on Anglesey, as he wanted to give back to the charity that searched for Joe's body. He was also able to give some money to Joe's mum. It seems to have been a healing experience for him.

I think the change in direction on the piano also probably represents the waves The Bridge is over the sea between the island of Anglesey and the mainland of Wales UK where Ren grew up So sorry for your and your wife's loss

This is a creation from 3 separate Ren songs. ''Freckled Angels' is a tribute to his friend Joe. 'Dominoes' is an expose on consumerism and greed and the effect on young minds and society. 'Suicide' is a beautiful view on ... well... suicde. 'For Joe' is the final tribute to Joe and his parents.

My condolences to your wife and you for your loss. There were three parts to this. One was a repeat of the latter parts of "Suicide", the second is the heart of the song, "For Joe" and the last part was a reprieve of Freckled Angles from Ren's first album. On that first album is a song called "Fire" and guess what? It is fire!

Thank you. For those of us that had followed Rens journey to this point, and knew the songs and the story of Joe, this was an emotional ride. Ren can take such soul crushing heartbreak and make something artistic and timeless from it - I hope Joe looked down on his friend when he performed this and let him know, somehow, that its OK. Before he released this he travelled to Joe's family back in Wales and played it to them to get their approval. That must have been a very moving afternoon... I'm sorry for your loss dude. Subbed.

@@TociReacts I do know. As an incurable introvert, it took a force of will every time I was in front of the camera! The process sucked but I believed in the project, so I endured it. I followed what the director wanted to cover while our sound man made it very clear that he wanted to be somewhere else. The cameraman was focused at least. Anyway, I hate what I went through, and I hate my part in that pilot episode, but I need to remind myself that because I did, dozens of people got a voice to share their most precious memories with the world. I'll not know the impact of that in my lifetime. It's also been one of my opportunities to endure KZbin's troll brigade. I've been called a liar and a conman and been promised an eternity in hell by a few. I know the worst-case heckling personally. Just don't go looking for it like I do. You touch thousands of realities with everything that you post, brother. Ride the butterfly effect! You and your channel are both projects which I believe in too. Relax, be yourself, stay positive and only give weight to what isn't bearing down on you. You're great at what you do. Try to have fun with it!

I mean For Joe is still a beautiful and heartfelt performance but it’s extra special when you know the other two songs going into it. Oh well. It’s not anywhere near as bad as hearing Violet’s Tale before Jenny’s and Screech’s stories 😅 Which I unfortunately did cause it was my first experience with Ren as it randomly popped into my recommended and I obviously had no idea it was part of a trilogy 🤦‍♀️ Anyway please check out Crutch feat.
