In Sept 1963 my dad, a farmer had a good year and said he would get me a "little car" if I would stop riding my motorcycle. So we were to the Ford dealer to look at Falcons. I told him I wanted the blue one (which I knew was a Sprint (260 V-8 4 Speed) and that car would scream, (after putting on a four barrel and dual exhaust with flow thru glass packs) little did anyone knew that in six months the Mustang would come out, but even when the Mustang had a 289 V-8 I could always beat them in street racing. Do you know why new cars come out every fall? because that's when farmers got paid, Can you imagine working all year to get one paycheck and not knowing how much it would be?

Wow what an awesome car. That little dual quad 260 V8 sounds really nasty. I'm a big Fan of all 60s Ford high performance cars and never have seen a 260 that fast or that sounds that mean before. Super cool car

Factory Lightweights are fast and rare. I love the power wars of the 1960s. Thumbs up on this cool video also.

My Dad's 60 Falcon used to smoke the neighborhood up the same way, except from the 144's exhaust. He used to call it mosquito control. which come to think of it , worked pretty well.

Great car! Great video! That engine must really spin to be able to flow two 660 center-squirters.....I've not seen those carbs in years. They really delivered the goods if tuned correctly. I wonder about the cam and shift rpm. I would shift my LT-1 @ 7000 and go thru the lights at 7200. That was with MT slicks and 5.56 rear end. I'll bet he's winding the little Ford even tighter. I love the 260, 289, 302 Fords....you could wind 'em so tight only dogs could hear them.

I had a pair of 660s. Those were the best carbs I've ever owned. All of my friends liked them too. Ended up on all there cars at one point in time

Wonder what kind of times it turned ! The stock 260 Falcon Sprints ( 4-speed ) would run low 16's - high 15"s in pretty stock trim, maybe tubing headers that were allowed , and stock 2- barrel carb. and a decent rear end ratio.

Very cool, I've got a '64 Sprint and a '65 Ranchero. The Ranchero has the same deluxe side trim as the Termite. I'm pretty sure I saw that car at Barrett-Jackson 10-12 years ago.

What are the different types of roofs on this car theres like almost the fast back one in the artical then the actual car has a notch back on it with some trim at the bottem pillars. The same goes for the 1964 mercury comet

So what is the deal the the duel carb setup, that's nearly twice the CFM needed to run that thing at 9500rpm? Is it done to keep the jets a reasonable size?
@ragimundvonwallat89616 жыл бұрын
when you run tunnel ram you want oversized carb because you want extremly large quantity of low velocity, low vaccum charge to fill the tunnel huge plenum....not so great for throttle response but for all out run it is still great to this day(but out of fashion)

Wow, 13-1 compression. A mean 260.

Please quit talking over the engine running and burnouts... all the way till it lets off. I have large speakers and when I crank it up your voice runs through my neighborhood. Thank you. Keep up the good work. Disgruntled Marine Veteran

She blows and goes ! Dad owed a new 64 falcon sprint ..silver with black interior, 4 speed pre seatbelt 64 contributed to significant injuries -head on collision but... next up was his new 67' mustang fastback in the only color that mattered... not surprisedI, as the mustang quickly dominated the market place had a chance to own it ...but passed as the belts squealed. .. not a smart move grabbed the neighbor's 65 ss impala convertible instead..
