Every time I see a Chevrolet Cameo I'm reminded of a story I once heard back in the 80's. According to the story somewhere in Los Angeles in the middle of the night was parked a big rig with a flatbed trailer, on it were those giant rolls of sheet metal. A guy backed up a Chevrolet Cameo right up to the end of the big rig trailer, unchained one of the rolls and proceeds to roll it off onto the Cameo, there are probably still parts of that truck embedded in the asphalt of that street.

My first car was a 1973 Duster 340 which I got in 1987. It was brown with a white interior. The guy I got it from converted it from a 4 speed to an auto so his wife could drive it. He also changed the carb/manifold from a 4 bbl to a 2 bbl which I immediately switched back. I sold it a couple years later and always wonder where it ended up.

What is your take on a clear wrap on cars is it wroth doing to protect the paint job? And is the up keep difficult to deal with?
@V8TV2 жыл бұрын
Clear wraps are a great way to protect paint, but you have to maintain them as well. We've seen film that became brittle over time with sunlight / uv exposure and was tricky to remove. Also, there is definitely a time window between applying film over new / recent paint to make sure the paint had the opportunity to "outgas" and fully harden. I'm sure there are a million videos on KZbin about the process for more qualified research.

Very nice clesn shop. You cars look great too. I love the Formula 455 HO. I enjoy your videos of classic cars but honestly as a dinosaur, I don' t find much interest in the restomod stuff. For example, you had a corvette with LT-1 on the hood. Instead of the modern motor, it would be much more interesting with the LT-1. Thanks for the video.
@V8TV2 жыл бұрын
There's room for all tastes in the hot rod world, that's the beauty of it all! (By the way, the driver of an original LT-1 Corvette wouldn't find the LS3 car very interesting when looking at its tail lights, LOL!) Thanks for the kind words!

@@V8TV , yea, the new ones are faster, stop better and safer. But, the old ones have soul. Plus, I can work on them without a laptop.
@V8TV2 жыл бұрын
Agree about the soul. New cars are so good at what they do that it is hard to find the soul in many of them. The cool thing about this old Corvette is that it still feels authentic, because it's still a '72 Corvette. It's a nice mix. I love originals as well (have you seen Muscle Car Of The Week?) but the reliable power is thrilling. Drive one if you get the chance. But I also own a carbureted '70 Buick I drove to the shop today. Lots of old soul in that one!
