Thanks buddy. It is really hard getting the shot of them going fast. This year I concentrated at the starting line and only got a few going fast. I did this partially because it was so hot out there this year that it made it hard to just be out there and filming and wanted to be closer to the action than way out miles away from where they were starting. The pickup truck said “record holder 188 mph” on the side. I’ve seen a ford lightning pickup go 220 mph in only 1/4 of a mile. It’s called “The Yeti”.

Sorry I'm just a one man show doing these videos and was concentrating on getting the shots and not the speeds. It is real confusing trying to figure out when cars are coming down the 5 mile track and they give speeds at every mile marker and such and it is even hard to hear it over the radio. So it can be a real cluster trying to get specifics or even know what car is on the track. And the 100 degree weather on the salt flats doesn't help much either after being out there for 10 hours each day. ha ha. Thanks for watching though!

I didn't. I actually knew one guy running his car there and I was just planning on putting it on his car but he had issues and didn't run till later in the week after I left. But this year I'm going to try harder to get it on some cars. Thanks for watching!

Why no speed

The race track is 5 miles long, so as a spectator you know nothing that is going on or any results. They do have a radio station that gives some results but they are delayed and sometimes another car is already going down the track at that time. So they do not have any announcements of when cars are coming down the track or what the speeds were, it's just not that kind of race.

Very little traction. The salt is like a sand-covered road. Drivers have to creep up on the throttle to limit tire spin.
