I love the idea but I do agree that $30 a month or even $18 if you wanna drop the $350 right away is a bit too steep. If they get it down to $10 month I'd get one.

What price health? You want a company who's put in a ton of R&D to give away their product for free?
@luissousa28674 жыл бұрын
@@jcsrst Polar Ignite does the same thing, and you have a well-rounded watch with more information. Whoop hardware for sure is cheap, software every company develops, R&D every company has. This price model is not suitable for consumers. I totally agree with TheK2TheC479.

@@luissousa2867 based on what facts is WHOOP, "software every company develops, R&D every company has"? Where are they? What is their product called? What's their business model?
@Pratsmusic4 жыл бұрын
@@luissousa2867 It doesn't do the same. I just did a quick search on polar ignite, and it definitely doesn't do what whoop does.

Honestly, I just bought the whoop because I was looking for something better than the Apple Watch. All these athletes promoting it, I was excited to try it. Day 1, ok - just getting started. Day 2-3 - not bad but started to lag data updates by 1-2 hours. Day 4 - stopped tracking at 4 am and didn’t catch up data fully until noon. Thank go because I was at the gym. It tracked my workout and somehow 2-3 hours later, it was missing. I’ve contacted support and hopefully they have an answer because the FAQ online suck. Stay tuned.

$500 flat is a much better deal than $360 a year. Saying it's driving pricing down is not exactly straight forward :/ the price point is much better for the company not the user. The user should be kept in mind. Subscription is best for the business not the customer. Please leave both options open to the consumer.
@caballerosuave4 жыл бұрын
" Subscription is best for the business, not the customer", is a false statement. How do I know? I work in the software industry as a certified customer success manager. The client has more power in a subscription model. The consumers in the market led the charge to the subscription-based model. Smart companies shifted and gave the market what it wants. On average it takes 18 months for a company to recover the CAC (cost of acquisition). If the client churns (terminates) before that period the company loses money. So then, how is that better for the business? Perhaps it isn't better for you as an individual? That certainly doesn't represent the overall market.

I believe it could but paying for an additional membership is a joke. I’d rather pay one time and have the service. I would never buy a whoop just for that reason. $30 after a few years is a shit ton of money
@John_Nada_5 жыл бұрын
Wait you don't pay as subscription for all your electronic devices? I know I pay monthly for my other hr monitors.
@garettw47415 жыл бұрын
John Nada god no, I have never paid a monthly subscription for anything unless it was for my gym or yoga studio. Seriously, whoop means you are buying an Apple Watch every single year for this ridiculous service
@hioxd5 жыл бұрын
They used to sell the band for like 500+ and then they decided to go with the subscription based route. The only benefit I see for the subscription would be that you're allowed to stop and go as you please. But I totally get your point too
@brianquintana51295 жыл бұрын
Considering fitbit, Polar and others are all going subscription route, you won't have many options that AREN'T a by-month price. Apple watch blows when it comes to metrics. Multiple crashes, doesn't track variability.
@garettw47415 жыл бұрын
Brian Quintana well that would be an opinion to the use you have had with an Apple Watch. The Apple Watch is pretty accurate to the whoops metrics. And others. I’ve tested the Whoop while wearing the series 4 Apple Watch and both were spot on. Whoop just claims they can do more. But keep in mind that Apple has for MORE money to invest in the technology far over what Whoop can afford.

Supporting the NFL player’s association is great for marketing and revenues...but what about the human performance that really counts like those who are in the military, and professions such as law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, nurses, doctors, and other stressful health care workers. Why not help these people out, and collect data that could help them perform better? The Whoop website doesn’t even acknowledge these professionals, or how the Whoop strap could help them...they don’t even offer first responders or military a special rate but are GIVING one to the NFL players for free who have more than enough money to afford one. These guys are something else...SMDH

Based on what is it a complete ripoff? Those that buy and use it find value in the data. Again, how is that ripoff? If it's not for you, great. It's childish to call something a ripoff simply because you do not find value in it.

I wore it for a few weeks now, it’s clear that I fell for JRE and your marketing hype (funny that pnoe guy said on their podcast that wrist wearables are all useless before ceo (Will Ahmed) redirected the convo lol). Your device is absolute garbage, it’s way more inaccurate than Fitbit or Apple Watch, they're mostly relying on user input and fishing for correlations. I am returning this piece of junk and getting my money back.
