This is and has been the ONLY song my special needs daughter will fall asleep to. For almost 4 years I have rocked my daughter to sleep to this song, and myslef sometimes. I wish the artist would get my message to know what a great impact this song has made on my daughter and my family. Thank you and I don't know you, but who ever wrote this song thank you and to Muse I have love you since I was a teenager in early 2000's . Glad you made it big time. You deserve it

this is one of those rare, hard to come by songs. The kind that are so violently emotional that even the strongest of wills bends before it. Sometimes you get in those moods where you feel like crying would be a good idea, you know to vent and stuff, but cant actually manage to do it yourself... this is one of the songs that can help with that yaknow...

Like i dont have a particularly difficult life, and generally im pretty happy and content. But your body still needs to cry every once in a while, so you watch sad movies and listen to sad songs, this is one of the songs that i would turn to first for that.

I've listened to this track more times than I care to remember-it always makes me cry because it made sense when I was in my 40's and makes even more sense in my 60's. These lyrics hit hard. I'm turning 18 in 2 months. And i always acted like an adult when i was little. And now i'm becoming more like a child trapped in adult's body. My parents always said please be a child when you are still a child. I wanted to grow up too fast. How wrong was I am. I thought childhood is very long. No, It was way too short, and I wasted that.
@Roboartist1173 жыл бұрын
Another song that sorta expresses that feeling for me is "Wake up" by Arcade fire. IMO there's nothing wrong with keeping some part of childhood in your adult life. Everyone is a kid in some way. We don't just throw things away just because they're deemed childish. We all have wonder, excitement, etc. Some things that are unintentionally lost and yearned for again are happiness, blissful ignorance, and the world feeling larger.

I had a dream years ago where there was essentially an apocalyptic event, and my view was panning outside of a high tide apartment moving through the widows and seeing flashes of each room and how everyone is reacting to it. Like a couple holding each other crying. A guy chugging a bottle of whiskey. Two guys playing Russian roulette. A chick having a mental breakdown with a bottle of pills beside her. All while this song is playing in the background. Worst nightmare I have ever had, but it was almost beautiful how the dream and music tied together.
