@@cfoster6804 I mean taste is subjective but if we wanna rely on hard data... this video has over 90 million views. Stockholm Syndrome has like 17 million. I know lots of "music types" like to think enjoying something other people don't like makes them cool, but mathematically speaking this song is better. Citizen Erased isn't even in the running, its barely 3 million counting both versions of the video on Muse's channel.

The Track is about the struggle to overcome anxiety, fear and insecurity. The verses describe the feeling of being overwhelmed and caving in. The choruses talk about wanting to break out of the feeling and regain control. The guitar solo serves as a reminder of hope and faith, suggesting that one can break out of this feeling of hopelessness with the right attitude and mindset. The song is symbolic of the power of the will to overcome obstacles.

The fact is Matt initially made a guitar intro but for whatever reason only they know, they changed it to bass intro and Chris just took it to another level with his amazing tone. I still see people try to recreate it which is interesting 😂 The intro is hella iconic and legendary and it inspires many to play bass. Matt even said in an interview he can't play the way Chris plays it. Chris once jokingly said he hates playing Hysteria because it hurts 😅 I love this genius trio.

There are so many more impressive basslines than this. As a bassist of over 17 years, look at Flea with Chili Peppers just to start. Let alone Geddy Lee from Rush or Geezer Butler from Sabbath. This is just a pretty simple repeating line. Its fun and sounds great, but really not technically impresive to anyone that knows what they're looking at 😅

Your whole reason for being and existing has just been proven pointless, and meaningless. The rage felt when your soul has been ripped out by the fact that all you've been working for, all that you've focused on being is a complete lie. It makes you question all you've ever known, all you've ever felt. Whenever I listen to this song, its like the very first time. a chill runs/goes down (one's) spine is absolutely what happens in each time. when I try to the upmost level is, when I also see the official video of the song. Everything, each and every single element, that combines this video is a masterpiece separately. This song is literally like an art, made with musical notes. I have been listening their songs for 20 years, as of 35 years now, they became a very distant part of my life, my adolescence years, university, challenges, comfort, rough times, marriage, road trips, sad days, happiness. They became like a friend of mine that appears in these kind of situations and be there with me when I pass through these feelings. Now we are at the point that words are not good enough to describe this song and Muse. Long live buddies, with my all sincere feelings, wish to meet with u one day and shake your hand personally and thank you for all!

+Shinji Kuritō It's not really in order, but you see a man rewatching videos he recorded of a prostitute he seems to be stalking and spying on (I think it's a prostitute since she's seen walking the streets and entering random cars), then when he finally gets her for the night he gets too greedy and handsy and she leaves, all of this being recorded. This left him really sad but after rewatching what happened he realizes he messed up his only chance and he completely "loses control"

I love this song. Never heard it until 3 days ago, and I’m already obsessed with it. I’ve been looking into buying a bass guitar for months now, and I love the songs that emphasize bass; Another One Bites the Dust, anything by Primus, and now I’ve found this song. I love it because it emphasizes bass, but not just bass. Everything is incorporated well, and it’s cohesive, and in my eyes, a true masterpiece.

Claudia Martínez Méndez when I studied at school people made a presentation and they used 'space dementia' as a background music to convey their message, I felt a mixture of feeling shit and great at the same time. Shit at how I am/was in comparison to the grandeur of their song and playing and bliss from the utter joy and coolness feelings I received listening. And they were so different from everything I had heard up to that point
