I’m so happy for you both that you enjoyed the show so much! You deserve it!!!! David your reactions are definitely the best out there, comparable with Muse and their live show out there 😬 You are hornestly and objective and fair that’s pure gold. I was a bit concerned about this tour, because it was not as spectacular as the last tours and more stripped down. Imagine you would have seen the towers from the Resistance tour, or the pyramids/chimneys from the 2nd Law tour or the center Drones stage, you would have seen the best shows that ever existed. Welcome to the Muse land that’s totally awesome and a big thank you to We Want The Cup as well. I will see them 6 times this tour in Europe and will still enjoy their shows. Glad you really enjoyed, Dave. The stage production on this tour was actually a little more subdued compared to previous recent tours which the band did on purpose, they said they didn't want to worry about stuff going on on the stage. I personally think the Drones tour was the best stage show ever and the 2nd Law tour a close second place Oh and I would recommend putting on the headphones and listen to the instrumental version of Verona so you can really hear the layering--best adjective I can give you is it's ethereal. And you're right about MUSE and Tron, I had thought the same thing that while listening to the soundtrack in Tron legacy that Daft Punk sounded very Muse-y.

Man... when I first got into Muse, I just couldn't fully warm up to love Matt's vocals. I then discovered their instrumentals for Absolution, Origin, and Showbiz. It blew my mind. It also made it click... Matt's voice was a full blown instrument. And so I fell in love with the band. And then I saw some live clips, and my life as I knew it was over. 😂

Yesss! Muse has been my all time favorite band for the past 20+ yrs and everytime I see them live they continue to prove why they remain #1 to me. When I see someone witness their amazingness live and get praise and recognition that they deserve it makes me feel like a proud momma. I really appreciate you 2 doing this reaction because you're known to be 💯 honest. To see you guys give such high praise means so much to us Musers because they deserve it. Muse has said that they basically makes nothing (money) on the concerts, every penny goes into the production, sound design and equipment. So that's why they can actually do this. I thought the setlist would let David down, 7/10 songs of the new album were in the setlist and its usually only 5 songs that make it into the setlist. And considering that the album was very mixed from fans and critics plus the album is kinda all over the place, I thought the quality would go down. Also funny that this specific stage production is their version of a "scaled back production", cause they didn't want to make it overly complicated and insane this time around. Mostly as the last tour it was basically a cirque soleil show and before that it was a stage set in the middle of the crowd, that would rotate like an LP while drones would fly amongst the crowd. Not that I would call this production simple, it's just a bit less extreme than previous tours. Thanks for the review and I think your lovely wife got her first Muse experience at the right time, 10-15 years ago the setlist would've been too heavy. Also looking forward to the concert review of The Warning, as they're my 2nd favorite band after Muse

Fun fact about this concert : 2023 marks the 20 years anniversary of their album Absolution which features Stockholm Syndrome and for the occasion they played the song without the usual 1000 outros which almost never happened in their career. And for the record, saw them live 5 times and it just gets better every time. They guenuinly love what they do and it shows.

First time I've seen them was in December 1999 and I only went there because I thought that the songs on the album (Showbiz) sounded like great live songs. It was a very, very, very, very, very small venue, but the energy was through the roof and I was absolutely right about my opinion. They were an outstanding live band back then already, because it seems to me that they actually write a lot of their music so that they can be enjoyed live, they don't just write them for themselves or their egos or anything. Oh, and I think that David now understands that when Muse fans say, that Muse are the greatest live band of the past 20+ years, that this is actually more than just a typical fan opinion. ;)

so FYI The Warning is opening for Muse in the U.K. The Warning opened for Muse in Mexico City & Muse was so impressed they asked if the sisters would open up for them in the U.K. The Warning has new music "MORE"

David I'm so glad you could see Muse live!! This is a band you MUST WATCH LIVE and nothing can replace it!! Now you know how we felt when you gave them bad marks for not interacting and other things 😅. I saw Muse live only once - a few years ago - they were promoting the album "Drones". dude it was great, among other things big drones were flying over our heads and on the last song (Mercy) a big spaceship 🚀 took off and flew around the arena.. it was great... glittering confetti and streamers were flying from above covering all the people who were downstairs and spreading the arena.. those who were sitting got up and sang along with Matt ... Man, to this day I can't talk about it calmly 😊 Muse is my favorite band and they really perform much better live than on the album and no movie can do it justice. It's the same with Babymetal - my second favorite band 😊. They were in Poland 3 days ago but I couldn't go to the concert and I regret it very much, although to see their real possibilities you would have to go to Japan because in Europe they have a shortened setlist and stage adapted to the needs of Sabaton. I don't know how it will be in the USA, please go to their concert and give us a report, we are looking forward to it! It was a great pleasure to watch your review, you are the only person on YT who can do it ❤ I'm also glad that Mrs. Heretic finally liked Plug in Baby, I wasn't lucky enough to hear it live unfortunately and I regret it very much! I like Mercy very much and it had such a beautiful setting that maybe I was still in shock when they played the last one 😆

DH and Mrs. Heretic, I am so thrilled you enjoyed it so much! Thank you for taking the time to review it! I don't think I recall you mentioning the "4th musician" on stage. He is new this tour (Morgan was the guy for almost 20 years!). The new guy is Dan Lancaster. Muse let him propose on stage at the L.A. show the week before yours (she said yes). Anyway, I just wanted to know if you took note of him on stage. I know it's hard to look away from Matt, Chris and Dom (and the lights/pyro)

Muse was the very first gig I went too. Almost everyone else I went to see after seemed like a school hall concert in comparison. Rammstein being a good contender for the live show. I think you both eluded to this but Muse's song are pretty much always better live, and i think that is because they write the song with the live show in mind. I remeber song like hoodoo and take a bow which i used to skip on the albums. Becoming unmissable because once you see yhem live and get the full experience that you can only get Live. It just transforms the song and you see it for what it was intended to be. Which is the complete opposite of what you would find of most other artists, Being studio is the song and it has to be translated into a live environment.

I can't believe no one has requested Time is running out, I'm pretty sure that song was one of the few songs that broke out in America in the early 2000s, it was on the radio constantly and I still hear it occasionally today.

Yesterday I hat the joy to attend the Muse Concert in Cologne (with One OK Rock AND Royal Blood as openers, really recommend the tatter) and enjoyed it tremendously. Unfortunatelly it wasn't really dark the first 60 minutes so the light show only startet hitting then. The setliste was greast and Stockholm Syndrom, which I would have loved to hear, was replaces by Bliss, which I loved to hear and put my daughter into euphoria. I was absolutelly thrilled. Great Show.

I've been a Muse fan for nearly 20 years, but only seeing them for the first time in June, me and my Brother are travelling from Newcastle down to Huddersfield (England). For one reason or another I haven't been able to see them previously, and this has been a dream of mine, cannot wait!❤ My Brother saw them around 10 years ago, and said it's the best thing he's ever seen.

Already there it was an incredible concert but imagine if David had seen them in 2013 or before he would not have recovered from it so much that it was incredible the muse before with matt's voice which was even much better

The Kill or Be Killed reinterpretation... I am pretty sure it was meant as a bit of foreshadowing (to the actual full song and the demonic puppet in the encore). Maybe the same reason they had the demonic version of drill sergeant before Psycho? It should be noted, it was just playback, not performed live (you probably knew this)

Highly Suspect is rough, because they started with 2 great heavy rock albums, then HARD pivoted into banal pop-rap. Their first 2 albums are fantastic heavy rock, QOTSA style funky, grunge. But then they took a few years, and came back with off-kilter rap pop hybrid stuff, and lost a huge swathe of their fan base, (like me). If you want an example, listen to the song "Bloodfeather" off their first album, then go to the song "Tokyo Ghoul" from their MCID album released 3 years later, and imagine the whiplash hard rock fans got from who many were touting as the successor to QOTSA. Biggest disappointment I've had for a band. But if its what they enjoy, that's OK. It's just not for me anymore.

Many of the new songs are not my cup of tea, although Verona is an instant classic, but seeing Mrs. Heretic resonate with them makes me realize that I'd rather have a Muse concert were newer fans get to also enjoy songs from their latest album. Instead of just having old songs that they would not know or the old sound that they would have a harder time getting into. Great review and seeing them live since 2013 I think this is the best production they have ever had.

I was blown away by One Ok Rock on both Houston and Dallas. Knew nothin of them but still they managed to engage the audience and sounded amazing. They were even better than Evanescence in my opinion. I only know the song My Name is Human from Highly Suspect and I like it, at least the studio version, bummer to hear they did have a good show.

Glad you enjoy one the better live bands nowadays,but this Will of the people tour it wasn’t by far one of the best tour they delivered (Drones tour or even Simulation tour,the one before this, were most spectacular even…)

Just watched the 3 of of them play April 10th, great show. I didn't think Highly Suspect was terrible, but you can't compare them to the experience and shows of Evanescence and Muse, especially Muse, they use so many props, and effects, and crowd interaction. I am not a super fan of Will of the People song, it's okay, it sounds like they borrowed from Marilyn Manson's The Beautiful People, but it was good live.

Hey Dave, before anything else, everyone do watch the whole video it's worth it. ahh so glad you finally had the chance to go to one of their concerts, glad to see you had so much fun, a lot of fans always argue about their setlist and so, but to be honest...it matters not when they sound so good live and after 20+ years of career it's hard to include all hits, considering they have sooooo many good songs that fans like, it's obvious they will onclude more of their new stuff in there. Great surprises with your scores, but I can stand behind that score too, experiencing Muse is different from watching it on screen, their show, their setup, their energy, all of it. I think he may have mentioned it when he first review Knights. Was Assassin an add-on? I remember they had some DLC in Rock Band and/or GH. Stockholm Syndrome and maybe Exo-Politics?

I have been familiar with their work for a long time and sometimes I choose something for myself in the audio library. As for me, quite original and recognizable vocals. But at the same time, it is almost the same everywhere. Therefore, I personally listen to it in doses and under a certain mood.

I ended up going to both shows. WOW. Glad you experienced first hand what all the hype was about. Also...side note...in LA, the 4th member unofficially of Muse proposed to his lady on stage right before Starlight. Again, glad you were able to make it to at least one of the local shows

I am sorry but you can’t call Dan Lancaster the 4th member of Muse - he has toured with them for only 1 year and has taken no part in recording any of their music, he assists with extra instrumentation and vocals on stage only. Morgan was way better than him too.

I didn't know how to describe him. Just like Morgan toured with them for years. BUT, he did take part in some of the productions with Muse. So his contributions should be noted. But yes, Muse is a trio. And used to perform alone. Once Morgan began touring with them, it freed up Matt for more interaction.

@@lounolastname4477 Dan does the same stuff Morgan did. Morgan was fantastic in his time, and Dan has been fantastic in his short time. I'd love to hear your analysis of what makes Morgan better, to add some weight to your opinion. To me, Dan has instantly added his own personal flair to Muse shows. What a great review and reaction, very thorough, well thought out and inclusive of all aspects of the total experience to give a well rounded opinion and review of the show as a whole. When people say you need to see Muse live, this is what they really mean. Actually being at the concert is a totally mind blowing aural and visual phenomenon that can’t be captured via recordings. No matter the ticket price I would always still go to see Muse, they are the best live band. I always remember the first time I saw them live in 2005, I was captivated throughout the whole show and I was totally astounded that they sound even better live than on their recordings, I didn’t think that could be possible, and I was amazed at how good Matt’s vocals were - he uses his voice as an additional instrument, to great effect. This WOTP tour production is actually toned down compared to previous tours, on their last tour Simulation Theory I think they only broke even as production costs were huge. I was pleased that Mrs H was prepared to give Muse another go and even liked Plug in Baby more than the first time she heard it and that she really liked some of the songs and even the ones she didn’t she (and David) were very fair with your reasonings, good to see that David enjoyed the “real” live versions of some songs more than the recorded versions previously reacted to. I hope you get to see them again some time. Also, well done and thank you to We Want The Cup for helping to make it happen. Great reaction, I rate it 10/10 - thank you.

Muse has won best live performance several years. The drones tour was even better than the current. Moment factory out of Canada had to invent technology that Matt wanted from scratch . The hand puppets over the stage controlling the band was unreal.
