The vocals are definitely clearer, but on the chorus they made it quieter than on the verses. I mean i would love to have this amazing voice in my ears to its fullest, so I wish they kept the same volume on the chorus vocals (or at least make it a little louder than it has now). The vocals sound very clear, but it seems to me that this volume is not enough to fully appreciate this breathtaking beauty of the young Matthew's voice
@tenisviejos3 жыл бұрын
This happens probably due to the waveform compression... maybe it was "too weak" on the original mix and they overcompensated on this one... anw, both versions are great!
@zr3eugle3 жыл бұрын
i mean... how can they make a "perfect"album better... right ? :P
@JD-qf8ov3 жыл бұрын
It's because the master is so overly compressed. If they dialled back the compression a bit it would sound much larger and fuller / louder. For reference I'm a mastering engineer. I'm hoping that maybe the mastering is better / less compressed on the vinyl release, eagerly awaiting it.
@scndsky3 жыл бұрын
I actually like it better that it's more quiet. I always thought the chorus was too loud compared to the rest.

@@luxetveritas9196 simulation theory has a lot of individually cool things on it, but doesn't really make sense as any kind of cohesive whole album
@mygetawayart3 жыл бұрын
@@Xendra exactly. It's as if they crammed two albums into one; on one side you have the more synthwavey songs, like Algorithm (both versions), The Dark Side (both versions), Blockades, The Void and on the other you have just regular formulaic pop songs, many of which are really bland, like Get Up and Fight, Pressure, Something Human, Dig Down (although the acousitc gospel elevates it immensely), Thought Contagion and Break it To Me. You also have all those extra synthwave songs and interstitials Matt included in Cryosleep which honestly, should've made the album more than something like Get Up and Fight. Coming from such a cohesive album like Drones, it's weird how they failed to make ST make sense all together.
