@@GinniWallin I think Maddie Ziegler's dances in Sia's work are a bit more impressive than this only because there are very few to no edit cuts. Maddie does several minutes of routine without a margin for error. While the dancers in this video are great, could even better than Maddie, there's no real way of telling with how the video is shot. Not bashing the video. I think the dynamic cuts from the band to the dancer are neat.

2:53 poetry right there... I just cant get over how he delivers it... how he holds back when he says "hold", how he screams from his guts when he says "pain", how he begs her... how he tells her off "Stop hiding from me!" Or accuses her: "YOU've taught me to lie" "and to KILL"... it is such a rare thing to come accross such a perfect interpretation of pain, despair and anger.
@lucasalexandre37673 жыл бұрын

I remember being a huge fan of Muse in early 2000's, when I was in high school. The last album I remember was Black Holes and Revelations, but my favorites were Absolution and Origin of Symmetry. After high school I got too busy with life and didn't explore new music, so I missed The Resistance and The 2nd Law, and kind of forgot about Muse altogether. Years later, I'm driving home from work, listening to the local alternative rock radio station, on quiet. This song starts playing. Within the first few seconds I thought "Wow, this is a really good beat" so I turn it up. Not two seconds after hearing "Revere a million prayers" I got goosebumps and felt butterflies in my stomach and said out loud "Holy shit, it's Muse!" When I got home the first thing I did was look up Muse. Low and behold they've release three new albums (this was pre Simulation Theory). I started remembering their old stuff and how much my friends and I loved their music. That night I listened to the first three tracks of Drones on KZbin... and then bought all their albums (I had CDs of Absolution and Revelations and had lost them). I remember laying on the couch, headphones blaring, listening to Drones and just thinking, "Wow." This song might be my favorite Muse song ever because whenever I hear it (regularly) I think back to that night where I heard it for the first time and credit it with reintroducing me to Muse - in my opinion the best rock band of the 21st century.

That's literally one of the best videos MUSE ever made. I was magnified from the beginning 'till the end, not a single part was wrong, the way they danced seriously captured me, they were so strong but graceful and sensual, the way they included the meaning of the song in their moves was brilliant, plus, the way the room was filled with the representation of the ashes (I guess?), and their eyes... I mean, this video is so simple but so complexed, I truly love it, like the song itself. I'm so happy to had the chance to know your music when I was 11yo; Now I'm almost 27 and I love you like the first time.

LYRICS : Dead inside! Revere a million prayers And draw me into your holiness But there's nothing there Light only shines from those who share Unleash a million drones And confine me then erase me babe Do you have no soul It's like it died long ago Your lips feel warm to the touch You can bring me back to life On the outside you're ablaze and alive But you're dead inside! You're free to touch the sky Whilst I am crushed and pulverised Because you need control Now I'm the one who's letting go You like to give an inch Whilst I am giving infinity But now I've got nothing left You have no cares and I'm bereft Your skin feels warm to caress I see magic in your eyes On the outside you're ablaze and alive But you're dead inside! Feel me now Hold me please I need you to see who I am Open up to me Stop hiding from me It's hurting babe Only you can stop the pain Don't leave me out in the cold Don't leave me out to die I gave you everything I can't give you anymore Now I've become just like you My lips feel warm to the touch My words seem so alive My skin is warm to caress I'll control and hypnotise You've taught me to lie Without a trace And to kill with no remorse On the outside I'm the greatest guy Now I'm dead inside!

2:34 - 3:32 is one of the most emotional song parts I've ever heard, with some of Matt's most amazing, eye-watering notes at 3:14... and of course, they had to follow it up with the different chorus starting at 3:32 going to 4:10 that hits like a fucking monster truck. Holy shit, man, this song is too good.

My ex-girlfriend literally left me after I took care of her, I did everything, bought her everything, feed her when she was sick, bought her any jewellery she wanted, brought her medicine, always there to talk when she needed someone...she breaks up with me over texts and treats me like I did nothing for her, acts like the happiest person without me. She played me and I was a fool, she was a total actress and I thought she loved me. I gave too much, I drained myself. Then after some time and listening to this eye-opening song I realize that I am free, but I am dead inside just like she was. Love hurts so much and it is a vicious cycle. Muse has always been an incredible band, much respect.

This song describes PERFECTLY how it is to be in a relationship with a narcissistic person, and what you're left with after getting out of that toxic relationship. I know because I've been in that relationship and I can say, the lyrics are 100% on point... At the beginning it did feel like ''..draw me into your holiness'', he was perfect in my eyes. ''Unleash a million drones - And confine me then erase me babe'' he would accept me and then soon completely changed me. On the outside he was ''ablaze and alive'' but he was truly dead inside, everybody saw him as the most talkative, attractive, compassionate all knowing fun guy to be around, but only I knew it was all for a show - actually dead inside. ''You're free to touch the sky whilst I am crushed and pulverised, because you need control'' a classic narcissist behaviour, he was still acting like a perfect guy while holding me on a leash making me feel i have to be grateful to be with him. I can go on, but I think you get the picture. In the end i am left also dead inside because he drained me. Today, every new relationship i'm in, i present myself as this ''My lips feel warm to the touch , my words seem so alive, my skin is warm to caress, I'll control and hypnotise. You've taught me to lie without a trace and to kill with no remorse. On the outside I'm the greatest guy (girl)'' ... But I'm dead inside... I killed (ended relationships) without remorse...

My god, I felt every single word you said. Without knowing the background to any of this, I also felt that this is what this song might be able. The ending lyrics, “you taught me to lie without a trace and to kill with no remorse”, that’s run very very deep to me because of everything my ex did to me. The world effectively turned against me because of her when she was the problem. I don’t know you or your situation but keep your chin up and keep looking forward and just know someone out there feels how you feel.

Yes exactly, I was in one of those relationships as well and the song's lyrics are almost frightening and also beautiful in how accurate they are. Every stage of what you wrote for the lyrics is exactly the same as how my relationship was
