@jumhed9946 жыл бұрын
It was a speech to the press about their reporting of the Bay of Pigs fiasco. He was basically saying, 'What are you trying to do? Undermine the free world?' So this speech has been taken out of context for this song.

It was not all about that speech but the executive order #11110 that got him killed.
@jumhed9945 жыл бұрын
@@user-uv1rr5xk8i No, it's about Soviet communism during the height of the Cold War and just after the Bay of Pigs disaster. The press were giving the US government a hard time, and this speech was his response. Fact is, the Western way of life is opposed around the world. When JFK says 'We', he's referring to us who live here. You've only got to look in this era of 'fake news' that this stuff is still going on. So this song is pro-West.
@user-uv1rr5xk8i5 жыл бұрын
@@jumhed994 you haven't heard the entire speech.. he talks of "secret oaths" this has nothing to do with the cold war. He wanted to end the fed, he spoke out about splintering the CIA and he spoke out against the secret societies. This is why many people within his reach were targeted as well.

@eli_croft9 жыл бұрын
Sixx Liner I can completely agree. I haven't disliked a single song from any of their albums so far. Every is good in it's own unique way. People are expecting Muse to make songs like they used to, and while they may have said it themselves, they are constantly evolving musically. If all of the lyrics are "meaningless" and "boring", then they must have a reason behind doing that. I love everything on this album so far, from the heavy rock songs like Reapers & The Handler, to all the new things they are trying, like Dead Inside and Mercy. In the end, they're just trying to appeal to a larger audience. While people are entitled to their own opinion, they shouldn't be judging the music so harshly. I can't wait to hear the rest, and should be receiving the Deluxe Edition any day now. Muse are an amazingly talented band, and whatever they're doing right now, they're doing right :)

Spetnaz all hell will be let loose. Aftermath and Revolt like get slagged like fuck...which they deserve. Very poor and not the direction I wanted them to go. The riff on The Globalist was ruined, the song was over hyped and will leave 90% disappointed.

Andrew Russell I loved Aftermath. Very different than the Muse we're used to but that's Muse for you isn't it, throwing curveballs, that's why we love em. It was a very beautiful ballad if slightly repetitive near the middle, a low 8 on that one. Mostly agree on Globalist though I thought it mostly worked. The Morrecone/spaghetti western intro up to the heavy part was flawless. The heavy part should have either been shortened due to repetitiveness (an ever present theme throughout the album) or they should have played around the riff more to make that part interesting. The outro did it's job just fine, nothing special though. I like to listen to Globalist with Drones since I see them almost like one song since they flow together so well. Of you look at it that way Drones makes musical sense and criticism evaporates. Try it. Revolt on the other hand, well, if they release it we have ourselves a kill list of the people that would give this aural holocaust a like.

Hahaha that Revolt comment!
@samredbond60049 жыл бұрын
I don't understand why every critic and some fans of Muse give out so much about lyrics. Every time a new song releases everyone says the lyrics have to be the deepest lyrics ever. Some songs don't need amazing lyrics. Like for loads of rock bands nobody cares about lyrics just the music. The lyrics for the songs on Drones aren't even bad if you get what they're talking about. Also for me the globalist is a brilliant composition for anybody out there who is wondering if it was just really overhyped
@TheOliverthecat9 жыл бұрын
Sam Redbond Well Muse did have a track record for above average lyrics so I can see why people complain, especially to the second verse "your belly is yellow"? Though I am not to fused with the lyrics, I am disappointed but it doesn't ruin the song.

So anyone have any idea how the final third of the album can even come close to the perfection of the Reapers, The Handler, JFK, and Defector third of the album? This middle section rivals OoS and Absolution in awesomeness.
@psychichorse73689 жыл бұрын
PsychicHorse Ok, I just listened to Revolt, and now I'm sure my comment is right. The final third won't come close to this part. But Revolt isn't a bad song, it's just not what most people want from Muse, it's a pop song.
@BeansWithHam9 жыл бұрын
I personally really enjoy Revolt. It's the kind of song that invokes a warm feeling inside you (for me anyways).
@CaptainChocolatePig9 жыл бұрын
It's not a pop song. Just because a song has a more positive melody does not automatically make it pop. It's still a rock song, it's just not the 'heavy' rock 'Muse fans' want.
@bogdan28059 жыл бұрын
PsychicHorse The middle third > The first third >> The final third... Revolt is a mess, in my opinion, because of it sounds so happy and mellow and it just doesn't belong with the darkness of the previous 8 tracks. Plus, the lyrics are... meh. The highlight of the final third is the first 5 minutes of The Globalist... after that, it goes to shit.

I've liked Muse for a little over three months now...I've got all their albums except Drones on my iPod. The Handler was the third or fourth song of theirs I listened to, got it on my iPod immediately. Then I listened to Mercy, loved it...Then Dead Inside, that freaking moment around 3:10 my god...I wasn't planning on listening to Psycho due to the curse words in the chorus but it managed to suck me in, I've learned it on guitar already...and then I heard the song 'Drones', that a capella thing...wow. I listened to Reapers, didn't care for it except for that riff in the chorus. The Globalist: there aren't even words for that. I haven't yet listened to Aftermath nor Revolt yet. But yesterday - I heard this one. It's so freaking awesome I can't stop listening to it. THAT "PWOBLEM" THING IS SO STINKING CUTE. It's going to be the next song I learn on guitar. Muse is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. We moved away from my home state and Muse has been the only light in my life so far. These dorks have supported me and kept me sane. Thank you.

I think American Idiot is a great album, certainly a masterpiece, but I am aware it copped some criticism for GD focusing too much on the lyrics and not the music enough, which I think is the opposite to Drones, more music less lyrics...which either way, isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'd love to see Drones with a defined character, AI had Jesus of Suburbia, The Wall (PF) had Pink, I reckon Drones should have one (although it's good it leaves it to your creativity)

COVID, for example. This is just one of many. Read the speech very carefully. It’s very actual, despite 60 years old. JFK was too honest to be a politician and was killed by his own government (FBI, CIA and secret services). That’s the price you pay when you go against the “institution “. It’s not by chance that we see in this video a picture of the Waren committee (I think), the ones who covered up the president’s assassination with a “patsy”. Further investigation was not allowed! Conspiracy Theorist? Always. because I think for myself. There are more MUSE songs about this. MUSE speaks out the truth through their music. I am a 100% conspiracy theorist because I don’t buy what those in power make us believe what the truth is. It’s NEVER the truth. It’s NEVER for our own good or safety. Only a fool would believe in them. “The dumber, the better and easier to control” right? They just want people who don’t question, don’t ask, don’t speak! Listen “COMPLIANCE” and “PSYCHO” from MUSE…. That’s what they want us to be….AYE SIR AYE SIR….get ready for the next mass control with a new pandemic in 2025. Mark my words.
