You need to watch this song live at Rome Olympic Stadium. Muse are by far one of the best live bands out there. Other songs such as hysteria (amazing bass line), butterflies and hurricanes, new born and plug in baby are great songs to kick-start your muse journey

Don't forget the Time Is Running Out music video, which is a straight-up tribute to Kubrick's Dr Strangelove. And there were a ton of classic sci-fi references in this Knights of Cydonia video as well, from kung fu exploitation movies of the 70s to Buck Rogers, the Star Wars Cantina, the Lone Ranger, Planet of the Apes, Mad Max, Heavy Metal (the French fanzine), etc.

The video to the song is quite amusing, anyone growing up in the 80s in the UK will probably know a lot of the references to TV shows of the 70s and 80s. I think the main references are spaghetti westerns (Clint Eastwood), Buck Rogers, Kung Fu, Battlestar Galactica and probably some others too.

Love this song! Also on the terms of the death penalty you were talking about briefly, there are many innocent people placed into prison as well and if we were gung go on putting death row inmates down we ultimately end up killing innocent people. So why let other peoples horrible actions make all of us taxpayers murderers? Get rid of the drug war, make it a health issue, and empty the prisons of these individuals who sre there due to nonviolent drug charges. We will have more than enough room for the harsher criminals for life.
