MUSE MONDAY EPISODE 4: Assassin Live at Mayan 2015 reaction (also channel talk and explanation)

Dude, I was there! Front and center. It was such an exclusive show that I had to win tickets to go. Only like 500 or so people in attendance and we're talking about a band that sells out stadiums around the world. The performance was intimate and face-melting and out of the nine times I've seem them live, definitely stands out. You're right about MUSE being a three-piece band, but for their live shows, they employ a fourth to cover extra stuff like synth, guitar, percussion, etc. In the past, it was Morgan Nichols. On their current tour, they've secured the talents of Dan Lancaster and he's doing a great job. As far as tracks you should look at, there are many lol. You might like 'Butterflies and Hurricanes' (Wembley), 'Kill or Be Killed' (Nova Rock Festival), 'Knights of Cydonia' (Rome Olympic Stadium), 'Reapers', 'Citizen Erased' (Les Vieilles Charrues Festival), 'Space Dementia (Hullabaloo), 'Exogenesis Symphony' (3 movements, only played the 1st live), and 'Plug in Baby' (Rome). That should give you a nice start haha

this is actually not the album version. This is the album version mixed with what's called the "Grand Omega Boss" remix of the song. They also just brought this version back for this years festival tour, but only in a few occasions.

Sucks to hear about your video being blocked. Don't let it deter you from making more videos though dude, you're doing a great job 👍 As for this song, some other people might mention this but the section they played at the end there used to be in the middle of the song in its earlier iterations during their Absolution tour in 2005. It had lyrics as well! They took it out of the song for the Blackholes & Revelations album for some reason but they included the original version as a b side to one of the singles of that album. It's called the "Grand Omega Bosses" edit if you want to look for it (the name is an anagram of its name they used in setlists - "Debase Masons Grog" - which was also part of a little treasure hunt they did back then lol). I think it's a superior version :)

Man i'd love to see your reaction to Plug in Baby, Dead Star, Knights of Cydonia and Unnatural Selection. By the way, the guitar effect in the 2nd half of the song is the "reverse" effect. Whatever you play is fed through the pedal and the sound is played in reverse. There's a delay on the effect so it's incredibly difficult to make sound good.

Mayan is far from being one of their best performance, way too late in their career. Try to go for older shows (before 2009) if possible.
