Muse - Sunburn Acoustic - HMV Bristol 1999

Track one of a three track set. This is an instore signing session from 1999, filmed by Matthew George. This track was previously published on Georges website "The Muscle Museum" in low resolution, but was recently rediscovered on VHS.
Muse performed in many stores during the 1999 Showbiz promotional tour - some of the signed items from these performances carry high values because they took the time to sign with their full names back then.
This is probably the most intimate Muse set you will ever see - with around 30 people squeezed into the HMV in Bristol to witness this amazing show. Fun fact - Muse also popped over the river Severn to the Cardiff HMV store in Wales to perform on the same day!

In 1999 I was 29, and had just recovered from Nirvana and moved to an island to get away from everything. Then came this, and have been a Muser ever since. Now I'm 52 and still go see them whenever. But not in recordshops anymore unfortunately. Best band ever.

Agree, best band ever! Just discovered them a little over a year ago and have been going through everything they have done! Amazed at the talent of these 3 who cant even read music,look at all they have accomplished over the decades! This is a little jewel seeing young MUSE, so freakin’ talented…. @@Heightsomethinghuman Sometimes for me its so strange to see "young" Muse, hahaha, because then I was young as well. Muse for me was a revelation out of the nineties.... just as Nirvana was out of the eighties. I still go to festivals and gigs or concerts. Im 54 now. My sons hate me sometimes, but they admitted Muse LIVE is something else.

@@eliohhh We are so happy and lucky to be alive in this day and age! But I can tell you, it was a very sad period in my life when Kurt Cobain died. I just could not believe it. I always try to remember when I first heard of them, think it was 1990 or so. Or 1989, I dont know anymore. At that time all my friends were into house music or rap or digging up the 70ies rock, and then there was Nirvana. Oh yes.

Grrr 😡 What's up with the old and new shit? There's not a soul on earth that can stay the same forever! I only know 1 band where no one mentions old and new and that's The Cure! I played in a Cure tribute band around this time, and even then, we had band members from 18-45. The real Cure is out touring at 63, and shit, I had a cute 6 year old girl next to me singing and dancing like she was there when they wrote the songs! They're now in the rock and roll hall of fame. I can't wait to see MUSE get inducted!
