The biggest thing about The 2nd Law is its just a FUN album! Its not nearly as serious or straight faced as their other albums, the band is just letting loose. Even with the whole apocalyptic theme, these songs are just adventurous and fun, lyrically and musically.

Cool story (not really): Back in 2013 when this video was new and I had NO IDEA what Muse was, I saw the final bits (where they're all partying) on a music channel in my TV. And I remember being "What the actual fuck is happening?" but I remember the music being really cool. Fast-forward to October of 2014, I started to get into Muse but I only knew two songs (Resistance and Undisclosed Desires), so I clicked on this one and you can imagine my surprise when I found out it was the same song I heard on 2013. I felt like home. And now it will forever be my favorite Muse video. :')

The examples you provided aren't really even "emo trash" by any scale or definition. Mind you about some earlier songs, way before Panic Station, were much softer than either Dead Inside or Madness. Also, Madness was released on the same album as Panic Station lmao. Their newest 2015 album Drones also had a lot of energetic and heavier songs - Reapers, Psycho, Defector, The Handler?

Juanma Alvarez I think T2L was a great album i this is said by a guy whose favs. album is absolution and Origin of Symmetry (more absolution to be honest xD). Bands change dude you know, and here's a clear example. For that reason, muse is my fav band, because they do music for making art, they love finding out new genres to experiment. And FOR that reason I love outstanding bands such as QOSTA, Arctic Monkeys, Deftones, The Strokes, Radiohead, Korn, Metallica and so on

I wish I knew got into Muse before the 2nd law era rather than after. Believe me, I love drones, but pretty much all the videos were lyric videos and nothing wired came out. Seeing this after they just released an album with a 3 part symphony would've been pure gold.
