Museo Castillo Serrallés | Ponce Castle Museum | Puerto Rico Travel and History

Castillo Serrallés is the family home of the best selling rum brand in Puerto Rico, Don Q. This incredible castle and much of the entire city of Ponce, was build as part of the vast Serrallés family fortune.
The museum tour focuses on architecture, Serrallés family history, life in the 1930’s, and the details of the home. While the Serrallés family owns and operates the Destilería Serrallés that produces Don Q rum, only a small portion of the tour here actually discussed rum production. There are several rooms full of photos and memorabilia about the sugar plantation workers and sugar cane production.

Great tour! I have been there a number of times. They used to do a really cool Haunted House at Halloween time! Hopefully you got to see more of Ponce too! It's a wonderful city. And as they say there: "Ponce is Ponce... The rest is Parking" haha

I still vividly remember this place I remember there was a room inside that museum full of Barbies and G.I Joe figures this was a very long time ago probably 2004-2006

Maragües no longer exists, destroyed by the construction of the dam in the city. The only remaining place is something called parque Wiso or Wito Morales.

The architecture style is a Spanish Revival were the center of the house was the open garden. All halls and rooms have acces and coincide at the garden. High ceilings for better air flow. Its just beautiful 😍

Talking about massive trees you should do a video of the Bosque Seco de Guanica (Dry forest in Guanica) It has a guayacan tree more than 700 years old. The dry forest is a United Nations International Biosphere Reserve. But bring a lot of water. I really mean a lotttt of water.❤
