Seeing the Lo-Vs on the White Plains Rd. Line looks uncannily natural like a picture from the '40s.

So nice seeing those Lo-V subway cars rolling! I recall riding those in my younger days, and loved how their motors sounded. Brings back memories. That was a glorious day on that trip to Yankee Stadium to see them on the rails!!

As some people would say "old is gold" and looks like the vintage train is alive just after its 2-3 year 'coma'.

You could stand next to the engineer on these, too, and get the same view of the tracks ahead. We loved doing that as kids. i

It's kinda refreshing to see vintage cars being taken out for a couple of spin.

The fact that the train still can operate with the modern equipment shows how it still is all the same it just is better

Watching these nostalgic cars, with their simple subdued darker cozy colors, plentiful pairs of low-cut windows, and touches like the real flags flying, are a sight to behold. It made me feel a lot younger, as i thought back to the era of the 40’s and 50’s, like what you would see on a Superman or I Love Lucy rerun. But the best feature is, without a doubt, the sweet sound of the enticing whistle, instead of a digital horn blast.

These look very similar to the Broad Street Subway trains I rode in Philadelphia as a child, that were built in 1926, and some others in the late thirties

So they ran it all the way down to South Ferry on the West Side Line then switched it over to the East Side Line? Interesting.

Question is, are these riding on the original trucks? It’s hard to see. If so, I’m pretty sure the motors have been refurbished and wheelsets replaced.

The motor noise sounds very much like the motors on the old slam door EMUs on NSE (UK mainline trains powered by the 3rd rail)

Nice of NYC to preserve and operate this historic equipment. Maybe they ought to run them more often. It seems to bring quite a draw.

Do these older cars need a waiver to operate on special occasions? Are they lacking any signal/control systems that modern equipment is required to operate with?
