The Lo-V subway cars are my all-time favorites from when I was growing up in the Bronx during the 1960s. ❤️

I remember the subway tokens with the Y stamped out of the middle. There might still be a few of them kicking around the house.

Those were the first subway cars I rode on as a child! How wonderful to see them out and about! I love the Y in the New York Transit museum logo on the car there. I remember those tokens. They were the size of dimes. I think if I could look somewhere I could probably find one.

@@clydepk3067 Probably grew up in the 1950s-60s era if he rode the Low-Vs as these cars are from the 1900s to 20s era I believe. And they lasted up until the mid to late 1960s. I could be wrong, though, as I was not from that era (I'm a 2000s kid lol).

Nice Low-V shots, but what was really striking is that people still wear masks in NY. The differences between places like NY and the rest of the country are just so huge.

I like tbat the MTA, keeps, maintains, and continues to run those vintage subway trains, unlike Septa in Philadelphia, they have at least 4 vintage Broad Street Subway cars sitting and rusting away for years in the Fern Rock train yard and nothing is being done to preserve them. I hope one someone or somebody save them or buy them, maybe the MTA and restore them and maybe run them on these fan trips

I'd happily ride these over the modern cars any day. One nice thing about this vintage subway car was you could stand in the front and get the same view of he tracks as the engineer. The Hudson Tubes were the same way when I was a kid. Have these been modified to run on modern electric power? Just wondering.
