My visit to the Museum of Transport, Greater Manchester in Cheetham Hill to the '200 Years of the Bus' event on Saturday 1st June 2024.
In 1824, Salford toll keeper John Greenwood started a horse bus service between Pendleton and Manchester, five years before anything similar happened in London. This event celebrates the 1940s and the 1950s with heritage buses running between the museum and Manchester city centre and to Belle Vue running along part of the original number 53 route.
In this video we look at some of the displays in the museum and at the Salford Art Galley and Museum.
My thanks to everyone at the Museum of Transport, Greater Manchester for putting on such a superb event.
