18:05 Actually, at around 14.18 of the episode (around when Sylphy holds up the ring to use it), you can see the scars on her hands. You are right that they don't show it when Rudy removes the gloves though.

Ariel & Luke are used to people with power being abusers & schemers and can't understand why Rudy, who has great power, doesn't try to use it to great advantage. Pursena & Linia come to understand he's a gentle person with the power to be a beast when pushed & think of him as a sleeping dragon you don't want to poke and Ariel comes to see him the same way. Thinking of him as having the Devil on her side is better than standing in front of him. They need to do an OVA of Rudy going off alone in the Great Forest. This is the 1st time Rudy cuts loose without holding anything back, while still a kid, impressing Ruijerd and the beast folk with what Ghislaine had figured out when he was 7 as she understood he could take her if he dropped his reluctance to kill.
