I couldn't put it into words, but every single one of your videos feels like it's never enough and always too short for me! I get so much enjoyment and so much valuable information that I've completely stopped watching all the other chanels i used to follow. When i don't have time to go to the woods, all I have to do is watch your videos, and it instantly lift my mood. Absolutely love it!

A trick I use for saturated Chanterelles is to place them on a sheet pan with a baking rack on it, then set in front of a fan on low speed for a few hours. This will cause much of the moisture to evaporate and improve the quality of the Chanty's. Mush love!✌🍄

I'm learning a lot from your videos. Recently came across and becoming my choice to watch. With a few books I have. In this video alone the dark mushrooms admirable bolete and deep Purple bolete. They are a little confusing. I found one today but not sure which it is. Can I post a pic. Love finding a learning but dang want to be certain before trying to eat them.
@pier6976Ай бұрын
I've been watching your videos for about a year. Here in Maine the season is over but watching your videos scratches the itch, at least a little. I dream about mushroom foraging until spring. I wonder if anyone knows: do people forage matsutake on the East Coast? Supposedly they are here but no one talks about it.
@mushroomwonderland1Ай бұрын
Never heard of them growing out there. Thank you so much for watching.

a lot of effort in this video. ty aaron! i would love to see what you did with the deep purple boletes. I think i found them the other day and they stained blue. i was lookin it up and that seems common.

Hey Aaron! Anyways here in Wisconsin in the lower part the only thing available which is pretty good anyways is I filled a 2 gallon bucket with turkey tail mushrooms! So unfortunately I'm not able to eat anything from the wild as you are showing. Just trying to make some tinctures very soon. First timer here so need luck.

How do you cook the Bolete's?
@sunshinewtwodollasigns100Ай бұрын
Does drying cook the candy caps?
@mushroomwonderland1Ай бұрын
Good question, I don't think it quite works that way, but I've never heard of anyone having issues with them. You probably aren't going to derive much in the way of nutrition from them, because the amounts used are usually very small.

Deep Purple Bolete - Do they bruise blue when the stipe is cut?
@mushroomwonderland1Ай бұрын
They often do bruise just a little bit.

I worried a lot, about whether or not to include certain hybrid specimens, in order to breed forward. The hybrid that made my hand smell like cheese and the Bacon Bolete, I have yet to consume myself ..though I needed to continue breeding forward, to encourage the fungal chemo-types, responsible for the desired flavonoids. I want to taste and enjoy them but realise there will need to be an assay, from gradual titration, confirming or not that the mushroom is safe for culinary use.

Synchronicty, the song "Patches" playing while I reach for spores, to choose from. Who are we going to meet next year? (photos of hybrids) ..what colours which novel chemotypes should I make most of?
