Great video Suzannah. The mushroom photos are outstanding. They are so small, so low to the ground, photographing them is a challenge. You are doing the mushrooms proud with your photos.

Yes they are! Oh I'm glad you think so. I've really enjoyed learning about them over the last few months so it's good to put the skills into practise at last 🙏

Amanita Muscaria. Really interesting. I was very surprised at its medicinal and recreational uses. And it’s been used for thousands of years.

Beautiful photos Suzannah the nice thing about macro photography is that it opens up a whole new part of nature that could easily be unnoticed. Thank you for sharing your video enjoyed watching

Supper video. Went out yesterday with the dog, found some fungi, went back home and grabbed my camera and took some fungi photos. Thank you for sharing with us. Need to learn focus stacking /focus bracking at some point. Some fungi needs that little extra light, without harming the fairy folk.

Really been intrested lately of trying out macro. There's some nice macro lenses for MFT. Oly has a 30 and a 60mm (60 and 120mm FF equivalent) that I'm intrested in. Well done Suzannah, love the video and your shots.

Instead of turning your camera upside down and using a tripod, you could also use a beanbag, it's very stable. And when you flip your screen, you don't have to lie on the ground either. Before I had my R6, I had a 5DIII and always had to lie down on the ground when photographing mushrooms as it didn't have a flipscreen. Great tips btw

Great vid, first time seeing one of them and ive just subscribed. There is anouther way of lighting your macro if you dont mind me saying and thats to use a led light block, (they dont cost that much on amazon) with them you can set the brightness exactly as you want no matter the "normal" light to get the effect that you want, they can also do various colours to that might add that bit "extra" ive just started playing around with macro myself, its a fascinating way of taking photos.

I don't think I talked much about it, I used a 100mm Macro lens

So, I’m curious to know if I could call this close up photography instead of macro? Because I’m fairly confident I can make similar photos using my 70-200mm and it’s not a macro lens.
@FocusFlowBySuzannahMaryАй бұрын
Yes I think you could argue that for some of the images, you could also get attachments to enhance your magnification too such as Rayon DCR-250. I did consider getting one of these myself

I use a cheap chinese headlamp or led lamp that works very well.
