Growing up living on the wet side of the peninsula and working in the woods, there are so many countless fungi that I have found that have zero research hits or anything you can find about them. I know there are so many that are yet to be categorized. Great work by you all.

18:34 Interesting. I had no idea Gomphidius was a parasite of other mushrooms! Right now I have a swarm of Gomphidius glutinus encircling a fir tree in my yard along with some sort of smooth, short stemmed, pancake coloured Suillis (caerulescens, possibly). Haven't seen them in a few years, but this year I decided to brave the slimy Hideous Gomphidius, and fried one up after peeling the cap. It was honestly far better than I expected. It was rather tasteless, mind you, but I was expecting it to cook up slimy, but it wasn't at all, and it had a nice texture. Honestly, the Queen Bolete (B. aereus) I had the other day had a more slippery mouthfeel in my opinion, but far more delicious, obviously. Would I recommend a Hideous Gomphidius as table fare? Nah, not really. But then again, I rank a blue oyster mushroom about the same.

I found 2 pure white amanita last weekend by Mt st hellens. They were growing directly next to 2 traditional red ones. They had the scales on the top and everything, but perfectly white. I wish I had known about myco blitz then.

Love watching your channel.❤ Leaving here in the Philippines makes me jealous watching other countries with massive amount of mushrooms to forage and to study. Here in Philippines they can only pick wild edible mushrooms when it rains in the mountains and only happens once a year. I'm leaving here in the city so theres no chance to forage. There are lots of mushroom on grocery stores and I always buy them but the enjoyment of foraging in forest and mountains was my ultimate dream. That's why I always watch you and other mushroom related videos as well.

Those mushrooms considered undesirable could very easily be used by using spices/herbs. Once the mushroom get moist from cooking, add a combination of spices like what are in Adobo and you might have something really good. Once the mushroom is moist, you can add all sorts of yummy spices to it and it'll pick up that flavor. I would also try cinnamon and other "sweet" spices as well as the savory ones.

I'm going to offer a suggestion about learning about spices and herbs...where you buy these ingredients is important. A lot of it on the market is stale. For the past 3 decades I've been buying my stuff at Penzay's. In addition to educating you about a spice or herb, tey also sell fresh product. An example would be- they sell 4 varieties of cinnamon, each one with a different taste, it does matter. @@jasonshults368

Not sure I will ever be included, I pronounce the word Psilocybe, using only three syllables ..since the war crimes and black holes plotted throughout space, people have pronounced it using four, with the BEE sound superfluously-suffixed.

BINGO! ..found it, one parent of the orange Gymnopilus species ..Suillus intermedius. Pretty sure I was looking at Galerina semilanceata recently ..I avoid collecting orange-capped psilocybes for breeding, most other specimens I will work with ..do not have a need for more small orangish fungi, I select for traits other than orange colour. The orangish project I am working on, includes a Gymnopilus. Gymnopilus luteus X Suillus intermedius = Gymnopilus thiersii

First upward mycelial growth to appear, after breeding Psilocybe allenii and Panaeolus cyanescens with Pluteus americanus ..the Pan cyan X Pluteus americanus mycelium are first. I know enough about hybridisation to expect hybrid vigor ..in this case I am working during a war, with very few material resources. I have to take an educated guess, that the first mycelium to develop ARE the desired hybrids. OH OH! ..what is this? ..fresh and fast mycelial growth in close second, from a fertilised decaying stipe within the in-vitro experiement (others use agar plates mostly), Psilocybe allenii X Pluteus americanus. I used only caps from the mail-order Pan cyans, so I know the stipe belongs to a Psilocybe allenii.
