We found hundreds and hundreds of hedgehogs Tuesday here in Croatia. We had to ignore them after filling our basket...so many! Chanterelles were on their last legs. We lived most of our lives in Saskatchewan so foraging here is a special treat. I am grateful for your amazing content!

@pamelajefferies3197 Believe me, I was ecstatic! We could have easily picked triple that but pick for our own consumption only. We regularly find so many black trumpets we don't even look around us for more. We live in a forager's paradise!

Great haul man. Don't worry, no sack or pick shaming here lol. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I've used my hat, shirt, jacket, backpack and probably a few things I'm forgetting. I have a nice net bag that I'm usually good about keeping with me but stuff happens sometimes. Whatever gets the job done. Same for picking method. I don't judge. I'm kind of a clean freak so I lean toward cutting stem butts and brushing the stipe and cap before I toss it in my bag but I've also done the opposite a few times. Another great episode of Mushroom Wonderland. I look forward to each one so keepem coming please.

This last Fall was my first time hunting for edible mushrooms. These videos have been immensely helpful and informative. After a few forays into my Sonoma County coastal areas I have seen and foraged lots (for me) edible mushrooms; particularly the Yellowfoot and Hedgehogs but also a few Oyster and Pig’s Ear. 15:46 I have always loved hiking in the woods and now it is even more rewarding. Thank you!!!

Me too, the repetition has helped us alot. If we don't have constant distinctions of mushroom attributes, they tend to get mixed up on which were which. (What attribute belonged to what mushroom)

This is fun watching your channel I live in carbonado and it looks so similar to our woods. You give me hope I didn't know you could go out at this time. These are kind of leftover fall mushrooms. I used to get varpas under the cottonwoods every year. I usually boil them first and then cook them in a with onions and garlic and bake them like a crispy stuff you have with bread.
