Remarkable job what this craftsman expert did with the music box . I really admire and respect a person who work with his hands doing still some magic with his skills in the old fashioned way .

How nice, that was a lovely story. Superb workmanship on the restoration. Only why didn't they take the music box with them when they left. LOL

The box was being packaged up for safe transport whilst they were outside doing the interview with the camera. The box would then have been brought out to them once it was ready to go.

Can we recognize just how spot-on perfect the host's jacket and shirt combination is? I really like the cut of that jacket, I must have it.

I wonder if they went out to do the post interview and then returned for it
@maliedelgado26582 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, they will bag/wrap up the pieces for them before they go so it’s possible they go to do the post interview while that’s happening.

I love watching the repair shop, one of the best programmes on TV these days in my opinion, I always ask myself where do the repair men and women learn how to repair these things??

Um, poultry still grow feathers, and probably wouldn't even mind donating a feather at moulting time. Perhaps the plastic ones are more convenient? :)

Hm, not really. It mainly just says that I know the difference between wildlife and highly selectively bred domesticated livestock.

Does anyone know who made that music box in the video, the ? I have a box that looks very similar, probably similar age, but no identification inside. Fascinating video and lovely story.

Definitely Swiss maker, pre-1900 or early 1900s by the looks of the mainspring and the handwritten label. Troy Duncan of Reuge USA, who has restored some of my antique and vintage larger Swiss boxes, does do appraisals … I would recommend you send yours for overhaul and appraisal …

The owners, incredibly, said goodbye to the repairman, but neglected to collect the renewed music box, perhaps as might happen in a movie on the subject.

A craftsman at his best. The only thing I would add to the workshop is a ultrasonic cleaner. Ultrasonic cleaner are the very best for cleaning the smallest of parts.

They really cut the time on the video on the restoration he cleaned the cylinder and showed rebuilding the comb then shut it off for the rest of the restoration why did they cut so much out they never do that on these videos very disappointed they always go deep into the restoration there was a lot of cutting on that one 😠
