The gyro on the pro controller worked best for me, but I still think it is cool that they used the IR camera in the joycon.

This game looks awesome but i think it's a shame that the switch version can't get access to copyrighted songs, like the PC version with mods does. That 'In the End' by Linkin Park Trombone Champ video looked like a ton of fun

There is a whole sub-genre of games that are supposed to be ridiculous and impossible(or at least difficult) to control perfectly. Such games as Octodad, I Am Bread, and Surgeon Simulator(most of this genre are simulator games). If you have played any of these they end up being more of a comedy because of the jankiness and yet still fun because of the challenge. I forgot about this game until the direct and knew exactly the point.
