What do you mean by South Indian singers? Tamil or all other languages as well? As the person who's native to any language has the grip over their languages, it comes naturally as raw as it gets. In Kannada, many a times we've seen music directors make non native singers sing as if they are one among us. With really good hold on how they pronounce and take the song. It depends on how a music director guides a non native singer too.
