There is another very similar melody to this in Eighty Six called Voices of The Chord and it's from Shin's perspective, but there are some interesting changes in it compared to Avid that I think you would very much enjoy, definitely check it out.

Truly a masterpiece, it reminds you every time of the pain and sadness from the series like right now after so many years, it touches your soul and gives you goosebumps and oh my, it blends well with the 86 series like we couldn't ask for more

Finally, when I first heard this song, I immediately searched for your reaction to it, which it wasn't there. Since then I've kept up with your anime music reactions and the recent 86 tracks for the last few months have been a ray of hope. Avid is my favorite track of 86, and actually my favorite work by Sawano himself, despite everything he did for Attack on Titan and all the other shows. It starts playing from episode 2, hits its peak in episode 7, and ends its run gracefully after episode 12. I really love how the anime staff timed the ending perfectly to the drop in every episode. Its visuals are very simple compared to the average anime ending but I can't find anything that fits the show and the song any better. Hope you react to Lilas soon. For most people that is the best track of the show and ofc it's beautiful.

86 seems like such a hidden gem, I hardly ever hear anyone talk about it. It was one of the few anime in recent years I truly enjoyed. That ending is always such a bittersweet kick in the chest. It's been on my playlist since I watched the series. That said, the lyrics were always a bit weird to me with the quick switches between japanese and English and the vocalists slight accent, I was was a bit confused if it was Japanese at all x) The song also gives me slight Cloud 9 from Wolf's Rain vibes.

I know that Tony usually doesn't talk about lyrics, but there is a common theory in the fanbase that Avid is sung from Lena's perspective, and Voices of the Chord is from Shin's. It's the same melody - the same feeling - sung from 2 different points of view and that's genius.
