I felt the same as you a few months back - how had I not heard of him before but I can assure you, you won't be disappointed with anything you react to from him. I do agree, having decent headphones makes the world of difference but respect your choice if you prefer not to wear them. I would love to see your reaction to 'Gethsemane' from the musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar' His story telling is second to none and his vocals, are again, exceptional. Found Dan 5 or 6 years ago looking for Manowar covers, his were the best. As a metal head, it's quite the funny reminder to see your reactions to his versatility and high notes. We tend to think of those as normal. Start to go through his metal covers, Helloween, Manowar, Rhapsody, Angra and compare with the originals. There's even Dawn of Victory that Dan got to sing with Fabio Lione, the original singer. Also, the older gentleman among the guest singers is Ken Tamplin, Dan's main teacher. He's got a channel, too.

He has over a decade of covers and you can see/hear how he has progressed over time. He has so many great performances. Watch his Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar (he puts so much passion into this song - the best version I've ever seen without a doubt, and I've seen it done many times).
