Evgeny Novikov. What else can be said about him that haven't been said already? His reputation is already solid and rising, so only saying his name is good enough.
@pauldunsford22992 жыл бұрын
His heel toe technique is top of the game. I highly recommend other stuff by him like Zabali Ebola, Baba yaga or Demolisher. Some of the best grooves in Death metal IMO.

If you listen at 10:26 you can hear him scream in that small break. This dude hits so damn hard that I bet this kit never mouths off at’m again 😂 Tony, this was so damn fun to watch I’m watching it for like the 4th time I think. I dig your genuine surprise and commentary!

I’m not a drummer and know nothing about drums, but holy shit. That’s insane and that’s coming from someone who probably doesn’t appreciate what’s happening fully.
@milanvujadinovic41232 жыл бұрын
Yes, Novikov is excellent drummer (by the way - you hit his name right!), and there is nothing much to add there... He and Alex (vocalist) are really stars of "Slaughter to Prevail", but other members are pretty good as well! I follow Novikov since he was in the band "Katelepsy" (before StP) and he is always so technical but groovy, also... You could check other drum playthroughs of him, on Alex or his own channel, but also number of "Slaughter to Prevail" songs, too. They are heavy as hell! 🙂 Also, Alex have a lot of covers of pop-songs (on his channel) with his growling vocal, and they are very fun! They are, now, in USA (I think Florida) and prepare a new album!

Between Evgeny Novikov and Austin Archey I can't even begin to imagine how tired I would be if I was somehow even capable of playing a song from either of their bands. They probably burn more calories in a single song then I do in 3 days at work. God bless them for it to because I love it!

Gonna recomend a few of my favorite drummers and since you like how songs are built as well first band is: Thomas Haake Meshuggah - Bleed Meshuggah - Clockworks Meshuggah - Nostrum Nils Dominator Fjellstrom for Dark Funeral or 1349 The drummer Frost for 1349 or Satyricon The drummer Hellhammer that seems to have played for everyone and just looks relaxed while doing his thing.

Subbed... Amazing reaction man! I think you should do a double reaction in cases like Slaughter and Jinjer.... To react to the drum playthrough AND the official music video in the same day... It would be cool, cuz vocalists like these atract so much attention and you'd be free to pay attention to them after the drum part.. Just an idea for "Baba Yaga", "Demolisher" and stuff... Keep it up man, cheers from Brazil 🤘🤘

i'm way late to the party on this video (thank youtube recs for that), but @2:10 you have a question about his snare head - marching snare heads are relatively common for metal drummers, they stand up better to the abuse of blast beats and such and deform less than traditional heads. matt greiner of august burns red tours with remo black max marching snare heads for instance, and this one kinda looks like either that or a black emperor
@as_sv97882 жыл бұрын
It's most likely an evans hybrid since he's an evans artist. Marching head, but not technically kevlar so responsive enough to use for a kit even in hip hop and gospel drumming.
