Me and my mom are honoring my late father today on Samhain, he passed this April due to health complications. I'm thankful for all the kindness and joy he brought to my life. And although he is gone, his cheerful energy remained engraved into my heart. Blessed be, everyone!

Listening right now in 2024. I painted a pumpkin with my mother and I’m using it as a lantern on Freyas Altar. As I drink whiskey and eat pizza, I gave Freya a good portion of whiskey and a slice of pepperoni pizza as not really an offering for anything, but just to share and enjoy as I ask her to join me and enjoy this nite with me. Hail Freya Goddess of Sorcery. Not only that but Goddess of Light Goddess of Fire. The Divine/Sacred Fire which is beyond mortal flame. If you know what All Hallows Eve is about, which was the witches making a mockery and standing in defiance of the evil yahweh church, the gravity of this experience should be well known and the meaning of such an occasion.

If Llewellyn is still publishing th m, they did a sort of Witch's day book years ago. In addition to the usual spells, there were short essays on each of the festivals, and a space to write in appointments,etc. I had one during my father's last illness, and used it to write notes on how he was doing each day. He wanted to due at home, and did, but the notes were important for his nurses, and they all loved the book, regardless of their own religious leanings.

The poem at the beginning associates the pagan Celtic gods with the judeo-christian concept of fallen angels. It associates Samhain with the Roman Catholic holy day of Halloween (all hallow's evening). Appears the author actually believes the Roman Catholic assertion that the pagan gods are fallen angels or devils. Rather puerile poem, in my opinion.
