My orchestra is playing this (I’m a violin) and I’d never watched the movie before so this gave me an excuse, and lemme just say….tears!!!! Literal tears lol. New favorite musical I love it and this piece gives me so much joy to play because of how balanced it is. The tempos and notes and everything. It’s so perfect and I just wish I could play it every year!!!❤❤❤

Im Younger but I did the solo for my 8th grade orchestra and it was so scary. I Did both solos at the beginning and end and I made my director cry. He said I did amazing and he gave me a day off, I Really love this song and it made my 8th grade year a lot better than it started as. I recommend this song because its not only great but it really brings people together. At the end of the school year which is in a bout a few weeks im going to replay it for my family to!

My father is a musician but mainly plays the clarinet, and he's taking me to their Band practice (elementary days) until 8th grade. This song reminds me of when I'll wake up to the sound of his clarinet and when I was sitting at the corner of their practice room as I listen to it. Maybe, just maybe, it's the reason why I'm so in love with orchestral music/classical music.

I'm a 18 y/o drummer who, I don't know how, get involved in a orchestra. I've been learning the drums for 5 years (but 2 don't count, so let's say 3 years) and all I ever played was very basic rock, latin rhythims and very little of jazz... And now, I need to learn this song, among others. First time reading an orchestra score. First drummer in the orchestra so no teacher or person who can lead me, and they give me only 5 days to learn it, all by myself, and just one general rehearsal... Why im writing this? First, I need to vent, and, second, even though I'm starting to hate this song a little (of all the previous context), I'm happy it's my first chaotic learning experience. I've never seen La La Land, I don't even know if it is a musical or a movie, but this piece is really beautiful and made me a bit emotional the first times I heard it. Hope me luck, in two days I'm playing this...

TheMasterDooze the note is played on 4th upper string as well as 3rd and 2nd. It is played in different fingering, just like in czardas opening. It sounds bold and thick
