Great Reaction TMG! As a 74 yo, 58 year musician/composer/producer, I totally agree that these ladies check all the boxes to rank in the GOAT: A 'sound' & Vocalist that are immediately recognizable✔ Insanely good Musicianship from every piece✔ TIGHT!!✔✔ Masterfully cohesive song-writing and composition ✔ GREAT front(wo)man✔ Stage Presence✔ Attractive (on STEROIDS)✔ Cross-genre compositions✔ These women are 'almost' Flawless - and I believe that 'almost' is because they constantly push the boundaries of what they can do - and I personally find that very Exciting. Lovebites is lots of things, but IMHO the best single word description is UNIQUE. 🤘🐺🤘

It's really hard to quantify with the proper words for them. you go into the song hoping for greatness and they surpass that in the first 30 seconds....

that was an exceptional reaction and review of a song. could not of said it better. they are now my favorite band and i have been a metal head forever. at 67 years old i never thought i would find a band that i would like more than metallica,maiden, and priest among others but that has happened and i need to see these ladies live someday!!!!
@MusicGodReacts

It's crazy, you can CLEARLY hear the Maiden and Priest influence in their playing but they've taken that to whole new places. The dynamics are just beyond anything I've heard. I'm 51, been doing music professionally 35+ years, seen over 1000 live shows in 12 countries and these ladies blow my mind every single time.

Im almost 55 , and i agree with you both, what was the metal band to date that included a piano (not an organ), a fucking classical piano in a metal concert? I don't remember any, just lovebites ,in the last 40 years I thought that the Smith-Murray duo was the best metal guitar duo, it's not anymore, Miyako and Midori are in the front and Haruna at this moment is my favorite drummer ,their covers of Helloween-eagle fly free and Judas Priest- painkiller for me I like them better than the originals, and it takes courage and tremendous confidence to play Painkiller, one of the most iconic metal anthems by one of the bands metal's most iconic, but they've passed the test 🐺🤘🐺🤘🐺

Awesome reaction Music God CJ and thank you for taking the time to do it!! And no worries on how long it took, it's your reaction channel, do whatever you want! Right there with you, there's all the metal bands and then there's Lovebites at the top of the mountain. Imagine being at a heavy metal concert and the band drops this on you, WTF. Not many (if any) metal bands can insert acoustic/piano into their playing, and transitioning into that ripping solo where Midori makes that guitar screams - gets me every time. They cover many metal genres which is very rare for a single band to be able to do (imo). And their doing this live, ridiculous. Look forward to Signs of Deliverance and Thunder Vengeance when you get the time! 🙂 🐺 Another one you need to do, if I didn't mention it already is Swan song w/Chopin intro kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXPLpaSdnr14d5Y. Definitely do it after the others to give yourself an emotional break. LOL You are correct, I am a guy, married w/kids. DG are my initials (Dave G).

There are few true masterpieces in rock. “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; “Starless” by King Crimson; “Ghost Love Score”, by Nightwish. Maybe a dozen more, max. What they have in common is gorgeous writing, jedi-level musicianship, excellent production, and, what really separates them from merely great songs, they explore multiple musical ideas. They are often like “Bolero”, using those musical ideas to take us through multiple emotions until crashing ashore like a huge wave. Few rock groups ever produced a masterpiece. Lovebites, in five short years, gave us at least five; I put this and “Swan Song” at the top of the heap.

Hiawatha G, in my opinion Lovebites is a paradox, the contradictory feature in each member being that none were schooled and trained to play heavy/metal/rock or any specialization in their nascent developing stages, . They received a fundamental music education according to the Japanese curriculum that would prepare them for their future endeavor in whichever respective genre they wish to pursue.. And this foundation was the seed that they sow to grow into composing musicians as they evolve. The limits of Lovebites is not what they can play, but more so to what they are able to write and compose and arrange, being the primary reason why a preoccupation with genre branding for these ladies is futile. This is a group of schooled and highly trained musicians cum composers. One salient feature that these ladies have been thoroughly trained and have mastered is the concept of time signatures. This seems simple to comprehend but requires time in years and effort to assimilate and apply, and many musicians find it hard to grapple with time signatures. With poor handling of time signatures, compositions at most will be mundane if not mediocre. Another feature is if 2 guitarist can emulate Halen or Malmsteen, without a strong foundation in handling time signatures, they can forget about attempting the Miyako Midori dual guitar execution. The permutation that lovebites possess is a composer's galore, having 4 composers on board (including Mao) with one composer extraordinaire, Miyako. And this competitive edge, outside of Japan is rare. Somehow each time i watch Lovebites I am also contend to refer to Senri Kawaguchi ( wow, she is making waves and going places now, as music ambassador) and Kanade Sato on their wholesomeness as accomplished musicians with world ranking. Anyone wishing their child to be proficient professional musicians should start in Japan. BTW, when I watch Haruna, she does not seem to portray as literally a hard rock metal drummer that she is. She has the dynamics and fluidity which she could potentially perform as a prog and fusion musician. But as usual a monster time keeper. Thanks for lending me the space for sharing my 2 cents worth. Catch up with you another time.

@@zainalabidinramli762 I agree with everything you said here. Yes, the deep classical training gives them unique tools to express themselves any way they want. And I am constantly flabbergasted by the depth of the talent coming out of Japan. I also think that the inability to pin genre definitions on them, as you point out, is one of the keys to their incredible creativity. Re. Senri, I have posted several times about her in my blog. As an old fan of fusion (Weather Report, Return to Forever, early Jeff Beck etc) she is a modern-day miracle.

the TRUE secret to the greatest bands, that the majority of people miss, IS the fact that they've mastered the art of time signature changes. Sometimes, it's subtle (bands like Triumph, Toto, and Asia) and sometimes EXTREME (Garachic Spin, Maximum The Hormone, Dream Theater) but ALWAYS is what sets the TRUE JEDI's apart from the imitators!
