[MUSIC] 'INSANE' (PARANOiD DJ Alastor Cover Ver.)

A full cover and re-interpretation of 'INSANE' in character as Alastor, featuring originally created backing instrumentation and sound design.
I'm back. 2 weeks after my surgery and I am at a place where I feel comfortable, inspired and wanting to get back into the swing of things. I've been very careful with what I've been able to handle and not pushed myself beyond what I cannot do, but my recovery speed since being at home at has been incredible thanks to the support of my family and all of you being so patient and encouraging waiting for me.
Hearing ‪@BlackGryph0n‬ 's own song for Alastor, his original singing voice, was the spark of inspiration I needed to get back into making what I love. To pay tribute to his incredible skill, I decided to change things up and not go for a straight translation cover where it is as close to the original as possible. I wanted to do something new. I changed all the instrumentation to be more 'analogue' compared to the original's electronic, adding in the sound design I felt would be appropriate for the lyrics and the scenes. I hope you like it all.
My "repairs" are almost complete. And this is a major milestone for doing so. Thank you for sticking with me.

This is really cool. I like to think of the original version as Alastor when he first dies, excited by his newfound power but still developing his Radio Demon persona. It’s energetic, but also introspective, as he considers if there really is something wrong with him. In your version, he’s settled into his character, the Radio Demon has consumed him, he’s confident with his power and has lost any lingering doubts. The original: “Am I insane?” The cover: “I AM insane, isn’t it wonderful?”

Not going to lie, I love your Alastor voice, as well as your angel voice! Even singing you still sound like when the character is speaking. Personally hearing the split of ED and Black Gryph0n, their voices feel very- different and don't quite match as if they were one person. Gabriel to me still sounds like himself when he's singing and not quite like ED's Alastor (though to both their own, their talents are great, and it IS pretty damn close). ED has a pretty decent singing voice, wish he had more confidence, and Gryph0n obviously has his amazing singing talent- but it just feels, off... Honestly I wish Viziepop or whatever company takes Hazbin would make you the voice of Alastor; you manage to still sound like Alastor both while speaking and singing without there being that rather off feeling. It just- sounds like Alastor. Your singing ability is pretty great and obviously the voice is pretty great. So yeah- thats my two cents lol :,)

Much as I love the original for the instrumental and vocals alike, the original in context doesn't quite fit The Radio Demon as well as some people like myself thought. That is most likely due to the electronic intstrumental, minus the swing part of it, not really gelling well with the 1930's killer luddite that is Alastor. (No disrespect intended for Black Gryph0n or Baasik, respectively.) Cue this version dropping the electronics in favor of pure swing and jazz while still retaining a similar pace. If the original was like walking through beautiful hellfire, than this is like being bathed in bloody madness. Great work, DJ PARANOiD and hope you have a swell recovery!
