Holy crap like, if I could point out a song that was the audio embodiment of depression/dissociation in its worst throws, this song would be it. Like it's an extremely good song, but I never thought there would be such a song that could like make me feel so hopelessly scared for the singers as they descend into the void of animosity that is the worst depressive episode they've experienced. Like the "who cares" following after "i'm drowning in poison" just hits way too hard and way too close. That added with the duet parts where both Angel and Jaxs are singing create this cacophony that feels like an anxious panic attack just before that void feeling hits when you have that realization of "who cares?"

This sounds like that Jax and Angel are having a friend fight and Angel feels like he’s being manipulated by Jax who doesn’t even care. Jax doesn’t see much in having friends and he doesn’t really care about Angel. Because of that Jax tells Angel to not cry, scream, and to remain calm because it’s not a big deal in Jax’s point of view but it is in Angel’s. Angel feels hurt about this and is feeling hurt from the poison Jax is (figuratively) giving him by manipulating him. It’s not even the first time they had this fight either, Jax says “here we go again” meaning this problem has came about more than once. He also repeats “and again” after saying “You’ve seen it happen again…”. That means Jax is telling Angel that he doesn’t care about friendships and this has happened many times over and to not be surprised over it. Even if it happened over and over again Angel is addicted to the hate that Jax gives him and won’t let him go. Jax pretends that it doesn’t happen and is sick of it. He doesn’t want to make friends because he sees them as all fake. Jax thinks that Angel is fine and that Angel is making this all up in his mind and he needs to get over it and calm down and it’s just cruel jokes that can be hidden and forgotten. Jax’s feelings build inside him and he just tells himself that friends are useless even though Angel tries over and over again to try and help him understand that it’s not. Jax also says that Angel doesn’t scare him and that he can’t stop him from how he behaves even if he did try a thousand times over. Angel won’t leave and would do anything for Jax and would be his even if Jax is manipulative. Angel feels hallow inside and doesn’t feel like there is much to live for because of Jax’s manipulation even though Angel chooses to have this done to him and could just end the friendship. Jax doesn’t care that Angel is drowning in his hate and manipulation probably because it happened to many times till its mind numbing. If you actually read this far, whose side are you on?
