Wow, I had not seen this before... Lisa has 100% control over her voice, that was fascinating from the first to the last second... There's something about these Japanese singers, I love the way they carry their melodies with unexpected shifts, they are beautiful and never boring... My favorite and absolute master in story telling still is AiNA THE END, member of dissolving girl band BiSH, I also discovered her on THE FIRST TAKE, I think you did one or two reactions to her - unfortunately you never did more, and I understand that as she didn't bring the numbers...- So I'll suggest this one for your private pleasure, it's a newly released video and not that apt to a react anyway, because you won't get to see AiNa a single time during the whole 7 min. video. But first of all the song itself is an example of crazy good storytelling musically and vocally, I just loovee her voice, and though I was sad not to see her because she's scaring cute the video still was intriguing... What I got from it: These are scenes from a reality show which is popular especially with women in their 20ies and 30ies (I still enjoyed it...). We have 8 young actors, 4 women and 4 men, and they undergo a group training on how to convincingly play kissing scenes - will acting love induce real love? For the music video they blended and cut real life scenes and acted love scenes according to the song's requirements, and they did an amazing job, this takes you on a journey, what's real, what's staged, and AiNA's song is a perfect fit (I suppose it's kind of a title theme for the show's episodes...) "Strong vocal presence", yes indeed, and she makes my heart skip each tome she goes from her clean, low, airy, tender, almost whispering voice to those distorted, cracking, at places squeaky, emotionally charged notes, and she does that quote often :) And her tone is everything for me, but let's give it to her band, the electric guitar sounds exactly as it should, the drummer is some crazy animal, and the arrangement going back and forth from jazzy ballad to straight guitar rock is wonderful. And the fade out at the end one of the greatest I've heard... I recommend listening with eyes closed, the video is just eye candy that doesn't improve the song and takes away attention from the music... anyway, as always: have a great day and enjoy it!
