Quite an interesting interview. Side note: My Dad & Dean Webb, performed as a duo, in the late 50s, around the Kansas City area. They won the big Pet Milk talent regionals, beating out full bands, with just 2 flat top guitars, my Dad singing lead & Dean singing harmony. They had to send a tape to Nashville to compete.for the national title. Well, Dad purchased a new recorder of some sort & he did something wrong, in the recording process & when it got to Nashville, the tape couldn't be played on their equipment. So, it caused them, to be disqualified. They could've won the thing & Dean might've went a different direction & never been part of the Dillards. One of those "what if" kinda scenarios. Any how, rest in peace, Dean. Dad, to this day says you were the best harmony singer, he ever worked with & Rodney's story about the Birds & Tambourine Man, pretty much verifies Dad's statement. That's my long winded Dean Webb story. Hope someone enjoyed it.
