It is unfortunate that a lot of these Military music documentaries from the Soviet Union and its allies chose to overdub the live music with recordings made in a studio or elsewhere instead of allowing the bands to be heard live and in true "warts and all" glory. Putting aside the shortfalls of recording equipment from this period, there is nothing better than a military band playing on the march in the open air!!!

Cool video. Thank you. I am also interested in the history of the GDR and I think that East Germany was a pretty good country. IMHO. OFFTOP: I do not dispute that there are negative aspects. It is a pity that quite a lot of people look at the countries of the social bloc and the history of Russia and the USSR, in particular, as some kind of fucking Mordor and through the prism of stereotypes. Especially now, when there is a war between Russia and Ukraine, many are trying to cancel our history and culture, and consider us almost barbarians and savages. And everything communist is considered shit. Forgetting that many people's (including britains, americans, poles, baltic states, finnish and etc.) hands are dirty too.
