Even though it’s different to their typical title tracks, it’s still them in that they said in the intro video they wanted to explore new sounds. They are always experimenting and stretching their craft so whilst a surprise, I’m all for seeing where they go with the new album. I think they said there will be some new stuff. I can’t see them dropping their Gods Menu flavour from future tracks.

Actually, this is very much within their discography. It's definitely different for a title track (which it isn't) but still very much SKZ. Check out Collison, FNF, Get Cool, Surfin, The View... I could keep going.

thanks for reaction! this single can be considered as official USA debut, since it is all in English and is actively promoted in the USA, probably that's why they chose a more Western sound for the song and a collaboration with a popular American artist. the purpose of this song is to reach a new audience. 3racha started writing the song from scratch in collaboration with Charlie Puth almost a year ago, 3racha actively participated in composing, arranging the music and writing the lyrics, as they always do. they tell about it more detailed in the intro video and in interviews. this song is not unique for SKZ discography, just not typical for a title track or a promoted single, so I understand why people might think it doesn't sound like SKZ if they only listen to title tracks and a few popular b-sides. SKZ had features before (once even as a title track - "social path" with a japanese singer Lisa); they had songs sounding like Western pop music multiple times before (view, connected, surfin' etc); they have released a fully English song before just once (super bowl), but had English versions of multiple songs. they also have tones of songs about romantic love or breakups, one of them being a title track ("case 143"; maybe also "I am you" - it was not written as a romantic love song, but can be interpreted without context I guess). I don't know how well you know the voices, so I will just tell, that Charlie completely sings the first chorus and a part of the bridge. there is also a SKZ version of the song with a different bridge (it has a bit more rap and less singing). Charlie doesn't participate in the music video and promotions, I don't know why, probably he sold all the rights to SKZ and that's why, I have no idea. I don't know him much, so I don't really care. It is also not my most favourite SKZ song for the same reason as yours. I wouldn't deep dive into SKZ if this was the first song I heard from them, but the song is still good and I enjoy listening to it as a SKZ fan. And I find it really good in comparison to what kpop usually releases for the USA market.

Thank you for reaction! I kinda feel the same way. Not a big fan of pop, but I'm not american, so at least for me it doesn't sound too familiar, actually I like JK album. After two days of listening to this song I am used to the sound, so it would definitely be in my playlist like interesting exception from other skz stuff. And I would love to see how they will (if they will) include elements of it to their music, especially vocals!

Can you react to NMIXX please they're a female kpop group. They also from the same company JYP Entertainment just like Stray Kids. Their most recent release, an ep called "Fe3O4: BREAK" is such a good album worth to react to especially the title track called "DASH". NMIXX has their own genre called MIXXPOP which they combine 2 different genre or more in one song. The concept itself is not new in the music industry but NMIXX is centering their whole identity to this MIXXPOP concept. Which hasn't done by anyone. You'll be surprised by them they're known well and called as the "4th generation best vocal group". Not only DASH, you'll be interested on the b-side songs as well. RUN FOR ROSES, BOOM, Soñar (breaker), and passionfruit. Is one of the most talked about bsides on the ep. Make sure to check them out as well. Thank you in advance 🫶🏻

There are so many K Pop songs that there is no dancing. lol. A please don't compare SKZ to JK. Why is everyone so surprised when a Korean group sings in English? There is nearly alway English lyrics in a most K pop songs. Have you ever listened to any SKZ B sides? They do a lot of 'romantic songs'. You obviously don't listen to SKZ that much.

Hahaha i agree.. this is a generic american pop song..that’s why i dont like it! the same reason i dont like jungkook’s or bts english songs.. no matter how popular they are, for me i just dont like generic overused sounds!! I wish this is just a phase for stray kids!! I miss their wittiness in lyrics and their unapologetically noisy sounds with so many interesting layers! This song just too simple for them, not highlighting their uniqueness at all unfortunately! But this can be a good experience for them, i mean it’s ok to get out of their comfort zone once in a while..

Hello, just so you're aware, a huge part of the fandom is boycotting this collab because : 1- Charlie Puth is a zionist (among a lot of other problematic things about him like being a SA apologist) 2- There is an israeli producer involved in the making of the song. By supporting & streaming the song you are supporting & giving money to these zionists & israeli (whose taxes IMMEDIATELY goes into funding the ongoing genocide) We are boycotting everything related to this song to send a message to jyp to stop collaborating with zionisits &, israelis as well as to do research on the celebrities before they engage in a collab with them.
