24:00 NCT is the defenition of doing the unexpected, i can confidently say they are the blueprint of experimental music in kpop. They are ALWAYS trying out something new, they dont follow the trends they create them. Noise music wasnt as popular in kpop as it was but they truly have contributed to the change in the kpop industry. Also with nct expect ANYTHING. They are no boundaries. NCT is neo and neo is new 🫡 24:16 actually it doesn't skip any prt, that's exactly how the song goes 😭 i know it might be shocking they have done it a few times in other songs (bsides, that werent on this list) actually in that same song it suddenly switches up like crazy somewhere in the middle it catches you so off guard, the bridge comes after the first chorus and its so puzzling 😭 LOVED this reaction btw!!!! 🤎🤎

And about 12:19 , they are All LIVE VOCALS, so if you guys check out the behind scenes of Dingo, the musics are only heard through their ear plugs and only their raw vocals are coming out. And they add the instrumental afterwards. They might control the volume for comfortable listening, but the whole purpose of Killing Voice is to hear their raw vocals without autotune, so no need to wonder about how they put autotune in their voices… They didn’t put autotune in.

That's right, NCT 127 has pioneered in Kpop this kinda Hiphop/r&b Music or they termed it, Noise Music. They, I think influenced the current generation of kpop group such as stray kids and ateez etc.

hey guyssss I'm so happy you reacted to nct 127, i was really waiting for it!! this killing voice is definitely my favorite, they're really showcasing their vocals and harmony, it is amazing how their voices match with each other to make it all sound so amazing. your reaction to designer was HONEST hahaha it is a unexpected twist, right? i love it how you represented everyone listening to designer for the first time haha there's something that i always miss in your reactions, i keep expecting you to highlight a member that caught your attention, or even the way a member sing certain parts of the song that makes you go wowww. as a fan you kind want to see how people react to the members without knowing them so that would be nice! you can even choose a bias based in first impressions and then change or keep it along your journey through the group hahah i recommend Simon Says, Punch and Ay Yo!!!!

the thing with the Killing Voice is like it has to be 100% live, and this is with every guest attending. The production of the program are hearing the raw vocals bc the artists are only listening the music through the in-ear plugs. Actually they often leak some clips before they post the performance of them singing and they indeed have no backtrack vocals (like the ateez one singing Utopia) Which kinda annoys me bc they then adds the track on the video for youtube so people often think they are not really singing but everyone is. They only invite the best vocal groups in the industry

“…Well, if those are, like, their b-sides, I really think they’ve got a lot of potential…” I thought that was a funny thing to say about an 8 year old group. 😂 This was a very solid reaction, with some insightful comments. I’ve been telling people for years that these guys generally don’t use Autotune, because everyone can hear their mistakes. They are also considered to be one of the most, if not THE most, influential groups in Kpop. Certainly for my money, they’re the best all-around group. So much to recommend, but the last 3 comebacks (“Ay Yo,” “Fact Check,” and “Walk”) are as good a place to start as any, plus you do get a sense of how versatile 127 is.

Im saying this without trying to discredit other groups efforts and talents but its safe to say they’re the strongest group kpop has ever seen. They’re the coolest group ever and you can just sense the aura they have. Be it singing, dancing, rapping, acting, variety shows etc. they always deliver. All of the 4th/5th Gen groups look up to them. Its actually quite sad that they don’t get the recognition they deserve, I feel like people like to overlook them. They’re not underrated but rather unappreciated. The thing is NCT has longevity and that ultimately will let them top any other groups in the present and future.

@@hideInbushTT I couldn’t have said it better, and believe me, I’ve tried. Look, I’ve been around awhile, and they are imo the most well-rounded, talented, and charismatic pop group I’ve ever seen. They remind me of *NSYNC in the way that they can elevate their material. There are songs, like “Sticker,” that other groups wouldn’t have dared to do. I’m hoping they get some traction from their KCon appearance: It was simulcast here in the States, and they had a large presence in the show, not just performing, but cohosting segments and commentary.

Their approach was also so unique compared to other groups. They were so ahead of time back then, especially when NCT U debuted with 7th sense. I truly hope they get all the flowers they deserve.

There are now 26 members in NCT... but there are only 4 mv's total where the group is all together. Think of NCT as an umbrella, underneath which the members are split into 4 *FIXED* member units *(127, Dream, WayV & Wish)...* and 1 *NON-FIXED* member unit *(U)* where the members are *"UNITED"* for full group albums, with tracks that the members have been mixed-n-matched on (based on who fits the concept best). Could be 2 members on a song and 9 on the next. In 8 years there have been just 4 of these special albums. (WayV is a Chinese unit and Wish is the newly debuted Japanese unit. Wish will be the last new fixed unit to debut under NCT, as SM decided to end the "limitless expansion" concept.) A lot of SM boy groups production is done by dem jointz who produces for exo damn near their whole catalog and like 80% of their stuff so finding similarities is not surprising. Dem Jointz is an American producer who worked on Kendrick damn album, and worked with Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Beyonce, Rihanna and many more he is one of the best black producers period i’d say he is very underrated in the US since he doesn't get praised much even though he makes the best song with the biggest artist in the world

It's nice to see you react to NCT!!! NCT is my other ult group aside from SVT and I'm glad you are starting your journey with them. NCT 127's bsides have a looooot of r&b even until now which is something I really like because i love r&b and it really fits their vocals a lot. Also having a lot of r&b bsides also makes their discography more diverse because it gives contrast to their more experimental 'neo' sound for their title tracks. Getting into NCT would be a fun journey for you guys because their other fixed units have their own distinct sounds too (Dream, Wayv, Wish). Also when you finally dive into NCT (as a whole/NCT U) releases, it would be a treat 😂

Mark is not in every NCT unit but it did feel like that for awhile. This is because he debuted three times in 2016. NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream all debuted that year and Mark is in each group. However, all members are eventually part of NCT U and they will be in various tracks because the unit rotates lineup for every song. When it comes to being in both 127 and Dream, this is true for both Mark and Haechan. It started because Dream was originally designed to be a "development" unit for the youngest members (they were aged 14-17 at debut in 2016) and once they turned 20 they would graduate and become part of another unit. So Mark and Haechan were not intended to be part of two units long term. This got super complicated but basically fans loved the Dream lineup sooooo much and they are so good together and so tight as a unit that after Mark graduated in 2018, the company eventually decided to bring him back and make Dream a permanent unit as well. This does mean that Mark and Haechan have incredibly packed schedules but they love being part of each unit and I would never want to make them choose. NCT Dream also has a Killing Voice episode and you'll hear their different vibe there.

NCT is an acronym for Neo Culture Technology. The initial concept was a group having an unlimited number of members. Initially meaning SM could potentially can add members at any time but that concept has been discontinued. The Neo of their name speaks to their music being the most experimental, future forward, different and diverse. They have members from Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, USA and Canada. The group is under SM Entertainment SK. Their fandom name is NCTzen (meaning all the fans are citizens of NCT). There are six sub-units that make up NCT. Currently there are 26 members. The leader of 127 is TaeYong Seoul SK. NCT U (United) Debut - April 9th, 2016 - is the 1st sub-unit of NCT. NCT U does not have fixed members. The lineup changes depending on who fits the song/concept/comeback. Baggy Jeans is the newest NCT U track, with the original debut members. Debut song -The Seventh Sense. NCT 127 Debut July 7th, 2016- is the 2nd sub-unit of NCT. 127 currently is a fixed unit of nine members. The 127 stands for the longitudinal coordinate of Seoul SK. i find it kind of funny that you only know their oldest songs, when they were just rookies instead of their more recent, bc at that time they were called "SM first mistake group" and only really started to get a lot more traction till 2020, Kick it being their most famous song by far and why they always choose it to intruduce and represent the group and their "neo" sound. Also found funny how you said 2016 is relativly recent group, since they are almost a decade old, and also since most kpop groups don't make it till 7 years together (its called the "seven years curse" bc all the kpop contracts must be for a maximum of 7 years and most groups tend to not renew their contracts with their companies and just decide to disband)

7:52 NCT stands for Neo Culture Technology. And like the word "Neo" in their name, they're always very experimental and musically risk risk takers. The mix of experimental sounds and concepts, with SM's usually high quality vocalist, along with difficult choreography, and very talented rappers (SM isn't known for their rappers, but Mark and Taeyong surprised a lot of people by bein excellent rappers who also participate in writing their verses.) Although all NCT Units are different- 127 is known for being the most experimental with their title tracks, and then dipping into smooth rnb sounds for their b-sides.

Yes alot of the songs after Cherry Bomb pretty much are bsides. But we don't really consider Favorite a bside. Because it was an added song song for the Repackage album of Sticker. Repackage albums have always pretty much 3 songs added. 1 being the most promoted with an MV and seen as a Title Track. NCT is known for multiple things and that is the usual SM things like crazy change ups, experimental beats, for bsides rather calmer and amazing vocals. The NCT in all that is them having RnB kinda bsides and neo sound. . One of the most experimental groups from SM are SHINEE, f(x) and NCT(mainly 127 and U). All ither groups have experimental songs and such but being honest those 3 are the most experimental. Mark isn't in every sub unit. He is in 127 and DREAM. In NCT U are all members(the members change for every song). The funny thing about it is that he is in many songs of NCT U songs. Also the other set units he isn't in are WAYV - chinese unit with a sexy, more mature sound NCT WISH - japanese unit with a more youthful but still neo concept They are mainly promited in those countries. But have some Korean versions of songs. The chinese unit has 4 chinese(2 of them from Hong Kong) members and 1 thai member and 1 taiwanese member. The japanese unit has 4 japanese members and 2 korean members. NCT has lost members last year being Lucas(debuted in 2018) and Shotaro, Sungchan(debuted in 2020). Each unit debuts : NCT U - 2016 (rotational unit, has songs on the yearly albums with having songs with all members like NCT 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2023) NCT 127 - 2016 (had for debut 7, than joined 2 and then 1 and later on one left for WAYV) NCT DREAM - 2016 (had a graduation concept, so Mark wasn't there for 2 years I think and later added him back in 2020 bcs fans were upset) WAYV - 2019 (debut as 7 but Lucas was kicked due to rumours, which caused 2 years of hiatus before he left) NCT WISH - 2024(were formed through NCT LASTART and had pre released song - Hands Up, We Go and NASA) NCT was an infinite group and to have units promote in different parts of the world like the units WAYV and WISH. There was meant to be NCT Europe, Hollywood(America), SEA, Africa and such. But that got eliminated. NCT WISH was the last unit. It got terminated with the 2 members leaving. The members Sungchan and Shotaro are now in RIIZE since 2023 and Lucas had a solo debut also last year. We recommend checking out unit by unit. Oh plus WAYV doesn't have NCT in the name because Korea and China had political problems at the time and had to be under a label that focuses only on China. That is why we don't see them being promoted the same as the other units. Now they are promoted similair. As they have Korean Versions of songs and English versions. Also every unit promotes also in Japan with japanese releases as the japanese music market being the 2nd biggest after the USA. EDIT - one more thing Mark and Haechan are both in NCT 127 and DREAM. NCT WISH weren't in any NCT U songs for now. Will but will be. Also Sungchan and Shotaro weren't in a unit with fixed members only NCT U(yearly albums since 2020 and weren't in Golden Age album being NCT 2023).

Ykw, i didn't like 2 baddies in first half... But after the bridge part OMG. All the adlibs by Taeil & Haechan, the harmonies by all of them, the high notes ahhh 🙌🙌 yk a group is gonna be great when they have 3 main vocalists and rest of them are great vocalists too. Their vocal line is 5 strong: 4 Main (Taeil, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Haechan) and one Lead (Jungwoo). The great thing about this group is that everyone can sing and rap. I personally believe that they have the best combination of voices in all of Kpop.

Okay, small & understandable introduction to NCT: NCT has 26 members and is divided into units Fixed units that work as if they were normal kpop groups: - NCT 127: 9 members - NCT dream: 7 members (Mark and Haechan are in both 127 and dream!!!) - WayV: the chinese unit of nct, 6 members - NCT wish: the japanese unit, they debuted this year and are the very last nct unit to be introduced, 6 members Special units: - NCT U: "U" stands for united, it means that any of the 26 members can be in this unit it just depends on who fits the song/concept the best! So we always have different number of members and different combinations between all 26 members. This unit is mostly only used for "full group" comebacks (I'll explain in this in just a second) - NCT Dojaejung: a trio unit composed of 3 members from nct 127 (Doyoung, Jaehyun and Jungwoo), they have so fare a mini album called "Perfume" Full group comebacks: The whole of NCT have once a year or once every two years a full group comeback. This means that once a year all 26 members come together to do an album. This album consists of songs from all units AND NCT U songs. We've had so far: - NCT 2018 "Empathy": at the time NCT only had 18 members - NCT 2020 "Resonance": at the time NCT had 23 members - NCT 2021 "Universe": at the time NCT had 23 members but 2 members didn't participate (Winwin was busy with other schedules and Lucas was on a break due to some serious allegations which later on led to him leaving the group in 2023) - NCT 2023 "Golden Age": at the time NCT had 20 members. In 2023 3 members left the group: Lucas (as I said before), and Shotaro and Sungchan who were move to another group called Riize (Riize is NOT an nct unit, it's a completely different group) NCT 2023 "Golden Age" was before NCT Wish debuted (as I said, they debuted in 2024) so now we have 6 new member from wish: 20 + 6 = 26 total NCT members! Oh yeah, now that you mention about the autotune thingy, it got me thinking like this: so 127 has 4 main vocalists, and notice that those 4 vocalists are standing away from each other and doesn't overlap their mics, basically each has one. Also, the two main rappers are also away from each other, so they also have their own mics. I guess when they sing together, they don't really need autotunes because they kinda harmonize real good. But autotune is definitely used whem the vocalists are doing runs, adlibs, and high notes, and since they each have their own mics, it's not really a problem. As for the rappers, idk of rappers use autotunes so... 😂

All the way until2018, Mark also participated in most NCTU comebacks (nct U is a rotational unit, so anyone in NCT can be added to a song if they match the vibe) but in 2019- NCT debuted their Chinese subunit, WayV, which Mark is NOT a part of. And as of 2024, NCT also has a new Japanese subunit called NCTWish, which Mark is NOT in either. But Mark is also in SuperM, SM's super group. He's not the only member to be a part of multiple subunits. Heachan (has pink hair in the killing voice) is also in127 as well as NCTDream. And Taeyong, 127 and all of nct's leader- is in 127 but was also in SuperM. And the 3 members of NCT DJJ are all in 127. But as a whole Mark is probably the member who has been a a part of the most NCT projects. He's debuted 5 times total. First as a member of the FIRST NCT unit to debut in 2016, NCT U. Then again with 127, then again with NCT Dream, then again with SuperM, then again as a Soloist.
