i believe the stacked vocals are a mixture between nicole (patd's bassist) and mike's (patd's guitarist) voices. B usually has his bandmates sing these types of vocals in the studio versions which i really like because it sounds even better when he performs the songs live. there's a similar example of that in their song Miss Jackson where the stacked vocals were sang by Dallon (the bassist at the time). i loved your reaction, you're great and brings a lot of interesting knowledge as usual 💞

sounds like you may not be doing enough warming up before singing if that's the case. also, trying to hit a high note without properly going into head voice (especially if those notes aren't normally in your range!) can strain your vocal cords. please don't hurt yourself like that. :(
