I've noticed that lots of audiophile buffs will play just a woman's voice, or something similarly basic, i.e just a single violin, Spanish solo guitar etc. What I would like to mention is that the most complex music what warrants high definition and would be most noticeable would be things like full rock and roll bands, full orchestral music, as having so many harmonics and complex distortion (electric guitar) would really test the ability for high resolution files to sound natural and analogue and really get in every peak and trough, potentially unearthing those really complicated harmonics we love so much. Yes we can't hear above certain frequencies, and yes what we hear is an amalgamation of all those sounds. However go and listen to a live orchestra, or just a grand piano and then you'll realise, there's a lot more subtlety and harmonics that just aren't being picked up on.

Nice setup there. I would pull the speakers out from the corners, about 1 meter into the room and also move them a bit closer together, about 80cm from the side walls. It will amaze you how much difference in sound quality it will be: better imaging and focus, bigger sound stage and also less bass boominess. Give it a try some day. All the best!

Great room tour, lots of great ideas for us....tripod now playing record stand, clear mannequin head for headphone safe display, Ikea Kallax for vinyl storage, old scratching hand written dividers, LED pucks under your tt, Ikea gooseneck lamp hilights tt and record playing, segregating analog from digital sides of the room for practicality, swivel comfy chairs, all great use of space and shows off your gear well. Please do more videos! What was the name of your CD cabinets, brand/model? I like them, matches with Kallax/ Expedit cabinets/shelves!

That's a fantastic room, Carsten! I love how the the cinema side and the music side are back-to-back in the same room. I also like that all the audio gear is silver rather than black. Nearly all the newer gear in the United States seems to be black. When you mix older and newer gear, you often mix the colors, which is mildly frustrating. So, I listen to music in the dark. ;-) Cheers! Tom

Marillion !! Just bought a Marantz NR1506. Small room, no surround setup, so no need for more power or channels. Even the NR1506 has too much. But it had to be an AV Receiver, otherwise I would've bought a Stereo amplifier.

Enjoyed the new tour, Carsten! I still love the organized look! cool new gear (yay marantz!) :) that LED light for the turntable is really cool! I've been thinking about LED for shelves for awhile, gotta love ikea :D Enjoy the Queen! I really appreciate your videos and have a passion for music like youI have recently bought a Marantz TT15S1 like yours (all of my equipments are Marantz) but i have a problem because the turntable is the american version designed for 60 Hz and my country is 50 Hz like yours so the speed is too low perhaps 28 rpmDo you know where i could be helped to solve the problem changing perhaps the pulley or the motor ?
